The place I enjoy the most is my home in the country. Although I enjoy traveling, I am always ready to come back to my quiet and serene surroundings. We lived on the Outer Banks for awhile and still consider it as part of our home. We love going back just to enjoy God's beautiful creation and mighty power on display there!

1 Corinthians 8: 24-27 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run your race that you may lay hold of the prize and make it yours.

Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness that cannot wither.

Therefore I do not run uncertainly without definite aim. I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary. But like a boxer I buffet my body, handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships, and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit, not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for not giving up on me. I know I can't lose weight without You. Thank You for giving me this tool of SP to help me to be accountable and consistent. You are my source! Help me to continue on this weight loss journey with You as my Strength, Helper, Comforter, Stand-By, Counselor, and the Lifter of my head. I love You, Lord.

Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling me upward. Phi. 3:13-14

All things are possible with God. He teaches me. He strengthens me. He motivates me. He loves me just like I am, but He also loves me so much that He won't let me stay this way. I'm on the right path, and He will keep my feet steady as I keep pressing forward.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any person is in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Good morning! Hope things are going well in your corner. I'm excited; I lost 2 more pounds! Now I can say I've lost over 10 pounds since the start of this journey. Yeah, me!

I have an anniversary this weekend; 22 years with a wonderful man. We're going out to eat tonight BY OURSELVES!!! Kids are staying at Mama's all night; I might burn a lot of calories!! ha ha ha

I found a used treadmill on Craigslist and am going to pick it up tomorrow. We've had glorious rain and I wasn't able to walk Wednesday, then yesterday was Walmart day and I was just too tired to walk later. Walmart wears me out! I'm getting old. But, once I have the treadmill I can walk no matter what the weather/temperature.

I got really convicted a few Sundays ago with a message from the Sermon on the Mount. The verse that jumped out at me was "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you." I had read that verse 100 times; had used it in S.S. lessons and children's sermons. But that day, the word FIRST jumped out and said "Hey, you can seek My kingdom while you're fat. Quit putting your weight first and seek Me!" Since I've got grounded in a really good Bible study and am spending more time in prayer and trying to do more as far as helping others, I think I will lose more weight. HE IS SO GOOD TO ME! I love the way He keeps showing me and teaching me after all these years.

Have a great weekend. It's time for my nephew to get here and I don't even have my clothes on yet. Let me know about your weigh-in. What day do you weigh? I use Friday because it's before the weekend when I tend to mess up! emoticon

For getting started exercising try walking on a mini trampoline. That helped me more than anything else to get started moving again. I have real bad knees. 5 minutes was all I could do and was a real good start for me, then I move up to 10 minutes and now 20 and I'm jogging with hand weights. You can even just sit and bounce.

WooHOO!! I can't believe I have the honor of being the first to post a big hello and welcome to spark people to you. If I can help you just let me know. It is a great program with a lot of helpful people on it.

Oh by the way I found you on Calling all Christians of NC thread. We have a few things in common too. I am a teacher assistant who in a couple years will be a teacher too, I love to read and love "Anne of Green Gables" and I think on August 6th we will be about the same age.

Where are you from? If you need help let me know cause the site can be a little overwhelming at first.
