I am a 76 year old great grandmother that just wants to stay healthy. I live on 5 acres with my husband, dog and chickens. We are not the traveling kind and are living our dream.

My Goals:
Reached my 125 goal today, June 21, 2010, now I think I will try for 120.

Well, today, March 2, 2013, my goal again is to get to 125 and maintain the weight once I get there. I kind of let myself slip when I started having back pain. I need to get a grip. I only need to lose 13 pounds to be where I want to be.

Today is March 17, 2015 and my goal is to get to 130.

My Program:
Going to the gym a minimum of 3 days a week for strength and cardio, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday strength, stretching and recumbent bike at home. Hula Hooping 5 minutes per day at least once a day.

Personal Information:
I was born in Albany, California, moved to Vacaville, California when I was 5 and lived there most of my life. My husband and I retired to Oroville, California in 2002. My Grandmother, Father and I were all born and raised in California so that makes me 3rd genertion.

Other Information:
I love to garden. I have five different gardens on our 5 acres not counting my vegetable garden. I have a cactus garden, lantana garden, a verbena garden, iris garden and a garden with evergreen schrubs that bloom. I also have a 24" border around my house with different plants. I put the gardens where there were big rocks so my husbund would not mow over the rocks while we were developing our property. Now the gardens are part of our landscaping.

I know what you mean about always needing a dog. I am the same. I had to put Munchie down Oct of 2019. He was the last of our 4. Munchie always went with me for a car ride. After Munchie was gone the car was so empty. I told my Hubby I need another car buddy, and hiking buddy. A day before Thanksgiving that year I adopted Emma. She was 1 1/2 years. Germ Shep mix. Not sure what the other half is. She is very athletic, and loves to herd cats. The cats don't like it, but Emma is having great fun. She has helped me heal as well. Can you post a pc of Tyson? I didn't see one of him. I would love to see the sweet boy. Hang in there. It takes time to heal. emoticon

HI Thank you for being a SP friend. I appreciate your post on my page. I have been depressed due to listening to the news and learning of all the Covid-19 deaths. It seems like the 45,000+ deaths in this country are just a number to many, I spent many years working in administration in the long term care industry. It saddens me that many of those patients have not received good infection control care during this epidemic.

My Sparkpeople regimen has helped me focus on maintaining healthy nutrition and fitness while confined at home. I am fortunate that my husband has joined Sparkpeople, as well.

We retired to FL after living in Iowa and Nebraska during our working years. Our only grandchild, who is 6, lives in Omaha. He was planning on a visit in June, that has now been cancelled due to the virus.

Stay well and keep earning those Sparkpoints!
