    emoticon Checking on you and love to see how great you are doing.

    I'm reading the BECK DIET SOLUTION, which isn't a "diet" but she teaches how to THINK like a THIN person. (Got a copy from the library.) I recommend it to everyone. (We have a support team here at Sparks.)
    Walking for five minutes is better than walking for zero minutes. Exercise is essential even if I don't do very much at first. I can build up the amount that I do over time, but I have to start somewhere.
    Hunger is never an emergency. It is only mildly uncomfortable. I can tolerate it. It will come and go.
    I really do deserve credit for breaking old habits and it is essential for building my confidence. Once my confidence grows everything will become so much easier.
    If I want to lose weight permanently, I can't make exceptions. I'd rather be thinner. I can't overeat on week-ends or any other time.
    I have to develop the habit of eating every bite slowly, while sitting down, so I can fully enjoy it. It is worth developing this habit, so that I can have a lifetime of being thinner.
    I'm not going to let any minor setback ruin everything I've accomplished. One mistake dosn't ruin my diet, but falling back into old habits will.
    I will recommit to my diet right here, right now!
    Exercise is not negotiable for good health. It needs to be a daily lifetime habit and I need to make it so. The hardest part is getting started. I'll feel so much better when I'm done. So get started!
    OH WELL! I'm going to ignore this craving. I'm going to do something and let it subside. I'm turning my attention to something else, like exercise.

    I thought your essay was "tongue in cheek" humor. But, I've been a Sparker for over two years and I've read some stories of people going on binges for the sillest reasons. emoticon
    I know life came really throw us come curves. My son, Nathan was found to have Testicular Cancer last year and had surgery and 4 rounds of Chemotherapy. He just had a check up with 3 Cat Scans to see if he had any tumors and they came back Clean. It is stressful, since like he says "Mother, they don't spent $9,300 on me just for the heck of it." I keep telling myself all will be well, but there is always that worry since Cancer is a very vicious illness.

    My name, 4dognight, came from the fact we had 4 rescue dogs at the time. They all 4 belonged to our son but he was unable to keep them so he just kept dropping them off to us. Charlie, a big wolfhound type dog, Panda a border collie, Polly a med size mix and Joe a dachshund. Polly had to be put down last year at 15 with back issues. It was so sad because she had gone through college with my son and got a degree with him. Charlie was given back to him when Joe decided to attack him and put him in the corner. Big 100 lb Charlie and little Joe. Now we still have Panda whom I need to walk more and Joe, 14 , who is blind and deaf and just lays around. Can't change the name though, I love it.
