WESTERNSAGE
Good morning! I found you comment on the "Foxy Loxy" blog by LEANJEAN regarding adoptees finding their birth families. I was adopted and tracked my mother through adoption papers and related efforts. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with me but after she passed I approached my siblings and got acquainted with some. I have since decided that I was very blessed not to have been raised with them although I sympathized with their issues. Later, through Ancestry DNA, I found my father's family; he had passed several years earlier. They are good people, but again, I feel blessed to have been raised in another family. Not all the reunions are like the ones shown on the TV programs, obviously. I'm sorry to hear your friend was so upset by what he found in his search. Being adopted is far more complicated for the adoptees (and probably for the birth parents too) than has been realized or talked about in the past. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Carol (Westernsage)
