My intent with the post was to create an awareness of the necessity to read nutritional labels on so called "healthful" foodstuffs. For the lactose intolerant any fermented milk product tends to overcome that problem. Keffir, yogurt and similar foods are available to them. My final point is if you add it for taste that is fine but do not add it for nutritional value.

I enjoyed your post about eating disorders, especially the phrase, "out of balance with our nutritional environment." Those of us living in the wealthier nations have seen unprecedented changes to our nutritional environment, and the changes keep coming every day as the food scientists discover new combinations to keep us in thrall.

I also agree with you that medicalizing the eating disorder issue isn't helpful, and placing it in a spiritual and relationship context is.

Just wanted to reply to your comment -
Coach, quoting your post, "Garden-Fresh Salad (One serving without dressing) 120 calories 3.5 g of total fat 550 mg of sodium"--how do they get that much sodium BEFORE adding the dressing? marinate the greens in brine?

There are olives in the salad and olives are high in sodium. Hope that helps.

I loved having your presence on the gratitude thread the other day. And I also REALLY appreciate your profile quote by G.K Chesterton...it kinda' sez' it all re: gratitudin', eh!

Come back and help spread the wonder!

    Blessed be!
