Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by my Spark Page. Please feel free to drop in any time and say hello.

My name is Candi and this is my story. I have gained and lost weight all of my adult life. Like many of you, I am a stress and emotional eater and I have used every excuse in the book to keep from getting rid of my bad habits!

In December 2006, I ran my first half-marathon and then ran three more over the next year. I ran two other half-marathons for a total of 5. Then, for many reasons, I slipped up and gained 50 pounds.

I recently got back into running again and on November 14, 2010, I ran the San Antonio Half-Marathon. It was an amazing experience and I was so proud of myself for the accomplishment. So I kept running and set a goal to run 6 more Half-Marathons in 2011. I am proud to say that I did it!

I am happy to have found this website and I am thrilled by the amount of support and encouragement that I have been given here. I hope that others will find that I am supportive of them also. Together, we WILL reach our goals!

4. Give up diet sodas for good.

My Program:
1. Eat 1200-1500 calories per day and eat more when I exercise and burn a lot of calories.

2. Weigh myself only one time per week.

3. Log everything I eat.

4. Drink at least 64 ounces of water each day.

5. Exercise 5 to 6 times per week.

6. Read health and fitness articles every day.

7. Participate on SparkPeople every day.

My name is Candi and I now live in Port St Lucie, Florida. I lived in California my whole life but retired and moved to Florida in June 2009 to be closer to our children and to try something new. We have two grown sons and two granddaughters. I love to run, bike ride, read, watch good movies, travel, and learn new things.

    All my Halfs before summer are local ones. I have the Gasparilla Distance Classic next, the weekend of 3/3 where I'll do the 15k/5k on Sat and Half/5 Mile on Sunday. The following weekend, I'm doing the Sarasota Half, the next weekend the Beach Halfathon, then on 4/22 the Clearwater Iron Girl Half where I'll be pacing the 2 hour group. Then I'll run my full marathon in Michigan on 5/20 for 2013 Boston Qualification. The RnR DC should be great! It sold out pretty early, first week of January! Any plans of races in FL the rest of the year?

    That WOULD be really awesome to do your first full marathon for your 60th Birthday! You're already inspiring, but can you imagine how how many people you would inspire and motivate! In the meantime, keep enjoying your Half's, they're they best distance in my opinion!

    I think it's so awesome you ran your first one at 53!!! And St. Pete was also my 13th Half as well! Congrats on all you've accomplished! Have you done or plan to do a full?
