I did so well on Spark People for a year and then as I have done in the past I let life get in the way of my health.

I now feel it is critical for me to lose. Suddenly I feel if I don't do something now my heath is in real jeopardy. When we are feeling fairly healthy and have gotten away with bad eating habits we let all those excuses get in the way of dealing with our weight.

All in all I know that I can do this if I choose to. I remember once hearing Dr Phil say you continue to do things the same way if you are getting something out of it. Let us all look deeply into whatever it is we are getting from overeating. Whether it be comfort food, control or the pleasure of eating foods we like. We can control this if we set our minds.

I am now facing bad labs. I am very close to Diabetic and my doctor will check again in 4 months. I think she is willing to work with me to get them down but I think she doesn't expect progress next time. But I know I will make great strides. This is serious. I do not want to be Diabetic.

I lost 3 today. That is 6 in the past two weeks. I can do this. It is only food!

Track my food daily

Stay within my calorie range

Exercise 40 minutes 4 times a week

Set goals

Drink my 10 glasses of water a day

Rid my house of clutter by getting rid of five unneeded items a day

Work daily on my to do list. It keeps me occupied and out of the kitchen

Work on my quilting daily. Sew, cut or plan. Work on UFOs

I am retired and living in Oklahoma. I have traveled extensively. I have been married for 48 years to the love of my life. I have three adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.




Other Information:
I like to read and am an avid quilter. Family and friends are important to me.

I am a romantic.

DH and I are remodeling four houses! Not including one we recently bought in Milton Fl. We are trying to get the ones in OK done so we can move to Florida.

I love Spark People and have met so many wonderful people here.

    Mainly my stella d'oro daylilies. I do have orange ones and removed the dead leaves and flower stems on those too, just so I could get to all the creeping charlie around them. I am digging those ones up and throwing them out. I had been saving them to plant along a retaining wall at the church building, but the wall is starting to lean outward and needs to be replaced, so I decided not to hold on to them any longer.
    Today was raking up the old wood chips (putting them where grandson has his outdoor toys), then spreading well composted horse manure and then wood chips on top. Didn't finish, as I need to dig up some ferns that have been spreading out of their area first. Depending on the weather, I might be able to finish it this weekend. Supposed to rain all week- so I'm guessing that since I have yardwork to do, it probably WILL rain. Otherwise it would most likely remain dry.

    Congratulations! I hope everything goes smoothly with the house sale! My Mom sold her house and just finished moving into her new townhouse a couple weeks ago. She absolutely loves it.

    Sounds like most of my days. heading out for Michigan for a few days on an actual vacation. Last real vacation I had was when my kids were in high school - about 25 years ago. After that, it was just going to southern IL to visit my hubby's relatives, and the last time I went there was 15 years ago. Guess I'm a bit overdue, huh?
