Hi All!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my work in progress! I am so happy that I have been given the opportunity to surround myself with such a warm and supportive community! I hope that I can be an inspiration to someone just as so many of you have been an inspiration to me! Since you are here let me introduce my self. I will also tell you my story! Where I have been, where I am, and where I am going!! This has been a wild ride and I am happy to share it with you!

I'm Catherine, I am a mother of 4 grown children! My son who is 30 and the girls ages 26, 18, and 17! I am also a grandmother of 2 girls ages 6 & 8! I have started on a jouney to become the healthiest I have ever been! Lose weight, become fit, active and live life to the fullest again. I have always been thin and able to eat what I wanted until the last few years. I had a hystorectomy and the weight just started pouring on! Before I knew it I was round in the middle wondering what happened! I began stress eating and dieting and falling off the wagon so to speak and repeating the cycle until it led me to SparkPeople! I began promising myself that I was going to start to lose weight tomorrow! Well tomorrow is not promised so I am STARTING TODAY!!!! This was November 2008.

February 12, 2009, my philosophy has changed a bit! I still want to be fit and healty but I am no longer a slave to the scale!!! I no longer want to lose wieght! I am on a mission to lose body fat! The real killer!

I don't care what the scale says, I want to be at 13% body fat! I want to be cut up and ripped. I want the washboard abs! I want to be HOT! Not buffed just cut! I want to lose my addiction to sugar! I want to eat Clean! I am finally stopping the vicious circle that has consumed me these last few years.

This is what I have done to get to this point!

I have been working out 6 days a week I walk my dogs 4 miles every morning. I come back and do a turbo Jam work out DVD for about 70 minutes. I stretch before and after the Turbo Jam. I strength train 3 times a week. I would rest on Sunday or I would just stretch. I noticed my clothes started to fit better but the scale wasn't moving! I began to doubt what I was doing. Why was I not losing weight? The simple fact is this. I was undoing all of my hard work and I had no way to gage how productive I was and if what I was doing was counter productive how do I fix it!

This is what I am doing now! I am still on a mission it's just the mission has changed a bit. I bought a book, "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle' by Tom Venuto! What I found in the pages of the book was nothing short of life changing, my epiphany! The book tells you what body builders already know. We all know that body builders know what to do because it shows!

I have clearly stated goals that I affirm daily! I read them out loud and I tell every one that listens! I stated them the present as if they have already happened!

You see, I am already at 13% body fat! I am maintaining my weight because one of the nations top agencies for fitness models wants me on the December cover! (At least they ought too!)

I bought a caliper to measure body fat! So I know where I am starting from.

I am learning the exact calorie count of everything I put in my mouth! I have learned the foods that burn fat and feed muscle. I have learned the foods that just wreak havoc on our bodies! I have to stop eating them! I don't eat anything that is white, meaning processed. I don't eat white rice, white bread, white sugar etc.... you get the picture.

I stopped lying to myself, I stopped making excuses because I am the one that is responsible for my successes and failures no one else! I am worth it!

12/06/09 - I had hurt my back gained 15 lbs back and I am starting over. I have updated my current program and outlined plans for the new program.

Fitness Minutes: 4,000

My Goals:
I am currently 33% body fat!

1. 13% body fat by May 31, 2010

2. Complete P90X in 90 days Starting 3/1/2010

3. Lose .5% body fat a week.

4. Eat 6 times a day on schedule. (Try to)

5. Rise every morning at 8 to start my day.

6. Drink a Gallon of water a day.

7. Walk Everyday

My Program:
Current Program

1. Workout EVERY DAY.

2. 2 hours of Cardio 6 days a week Mon. through Sat. includes
Turbo Kick classes Mon, Tues, & Weds

3. Strentgh train 3 days a wk, Mon., Wed, & Fri. for 45 minutes.

4. Flexibility train (Stretch) 7 days a wk, 1/2 hour Mon. thru Sat.
Sunday is rest

5. Ballroom Dancing open floor Saturday Night 7:30 to 9:30 pm

New program:
1. P90X (second round) 3/01/2010

2. Start Insanity along with P90x to include more intense aerobic activity 3/01/2010

I am an avid Reader and I love audio books as well. I love Ball Room dancing, and Rollerblading. I am a die hard DIY-er and a practicing interior decorator. I have a thing for power tools and I have more than a passing interest in carpentry. I am making plans to return to school to get another Masters in Interior Architecture after I get my youngest two children out of my pocket (they are in college now). I am an empty-nester and I want to be in tip top shape to enjoy the next phase of my life. My husband and I have a passion for cruising and try to go as often as possible. I I have always been athletic and I lost my way, but SparkPeople has given me the directions to get it back! So health and fitness here I come!
