Introduction Text I am now retired from teaching high school students with emotional and behavioral disorders after 16 wonderful and eventful years! Retirement has brought a new range of events and excitement. I'm now working part-time at my church and weekends as a night auditor at the local Best Western. These crazy hours have allowed me to pack on the pounds again. I now have a boyfriend and we are in a friendly competition to see who can reach their weight goal first. He wants to lose 100 pounds and I want to lose 67 pounds in one year. (Wedding bells are in the future.)

My goal is to lose weight and become more physically fit.

New Program Change: I'm back to reading labels and eating at home more often. I am exercising more because of all the walking involved in my jobs. I need to do more exercising than what I do and continue to make healthier choices with food. PROGRAM CHANGE: My program is to continue reading labels and preparing healthy foods, and to exercise more. I also need to maintain the good sleep habits I have built during my first couple months on SparkPeople. ORIGINAL PROGRAM: My program is to start preparing food again (yuck!), and to start exercising more (simple things like clean the house). I hope to walk 5 miles each day just in my daily routine of work and chores.

My name is Carol. I am currently from Wapakoneta, Ohio (exactly at the half-way point of I-75 on the western side of the state).

I love Jesus! I really like history & historical fiction. I am a fan of movies (especially musicals). I am a published author, having written a fantasy trilogy set in the middle ages, and a 3-part devotional.
