Hi, and welcome to my Sparkpage! I've been at SparkPeople since 2005 - and I've come to realize that the quest for good health and weightloss is a journey. There are no 'quick fixes' - and there will be ups and downs along the way. A lot of it is mental - having a goal, a plan, staying focused and never giving up.

I find I am most successful when I do a 'streak' - an ongoing series of days where I track the basics. So, I started a SparkTeam called 'Streak to Success' and I'd love for you to join me there if you think it would help you toward your goal, too! You will find a link to it in my Spark Teams list. Let's work together!

Fitness Minutes: 42,206

My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose 60 pounds and to become heatlhier and stronger and of course, to look better and have fun buying smaller clothes again!

Accomplishing THIS is WORTH the effort!!!

My Program:
Keeping track of my calories , exercise minutes, water and fruits/veggies everyday. For exercise I mostly do a combo of water aerobics, walking and bike riding. I use lots of charts, stickers, etc. to keep me motivated (see my picture gallery).

Personal Information:
I live in Georgia with my wonderful husband. We have two grown sons who are 28 and 32. I work 3 days a week as an administrative assistant. I like to cook, read, scrapbook family photos and spend time with my wonderful husband who I've been married to for 35 years. .

Other Information:
Here are some of my favorite weight loss quotes:

A person who really wants something will find a way; a person who doesn't will find an excuse!

Fitness is not Perfection, It's PROGRESSION!

Success is the result of small efforts - repeated day in and day out

Don't exchange what you want MOST for what you want at the moment!

Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream.

What separates winners from losers is the courage to persist long enough to win - David Cottrell

Hi and thanks again for the awesome Streak to Success team. I don't think I have found a team as enjoyable & motivating as this one! I am joining you on your 10-challenge and will try to meet or exceed my goals. I am back down to my pre-holiday weight this morning which helps!! I hope your heart scan goes ok! emoticon

I didn't even finish what I was writing on the goodie and must have bumped something and sent it. Now I see I even got two sent somehow! Weird.
    Have a great week!

I'm so happy to have both of you at the streak challenge...I think you are both awesome ladies and I'm looking forward to working together! Oma...MN is my home state, too! Both my husband and I still have family there.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm still getting into the team. Learning as I go. I need some dedicated time to really set up my goals better, but logging food it a great start, so I will work on that and increase things as I go.
I looked at your pictures. I loved all the charts. That is definitely my type of thing.
I lost all my weight in 2009 and have just been up and down a few pounds since. I'm thankful that I have maintained it though.
I was just in the States for a month, gained (gulp) 9 pounds. Most of it must have been water since I am already down 7 1/2. Now to work on the other stubborn ones!
I also see you took a trip to MN (my home state and where 2 of my children live with their families now). What is your connection.
    Have a great weekend.
