The trouble with food is you HAVE to eat it.You can't avoid it like avoiding other addictions. It IS my addiction, And I have to keep on shooting it.

I started off being anorexic, then in my 20's I turned bulimic, then I graduated to being a binge eater. I have been to Toronto General's day hospital Eating Disorder program and that was intense!
I learned a lot about myself, yet I wandered away from the techniques they taught me.

This year (2019) brought back my allergy that went into remission a few years ago.. ii have cold urticaria. am allergic to the cold. let the depression begin.

My Goals:
I would like to stop being addicted to food. I would like to be able to shop at any store, not just plus size. i want to just be able to take care of myself in a healthy way. I want to know how to love just being me.

My Program:
i am on the waiting list for a weight program in Toronto called lifestyle 360 program. COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY & MEDICALLY SUPERVISED WEIGHT CONTROL OHIP COVERED. it will be a 3 to 4 months wait. they also go bariatric surgery which i am considering.

Personal Information:
I live in Toronto,Ontario, Canada. I have had an Eating Disorder since I was about 12 years old.I was first Anorexic, then Bulimic, now I am a Binge eater. I have lost a lot of weight in the past, and have gained it all back, and then some. I want to stop this food tornado I am on.

Other Information:
I am a Fine Art Photographer with pretty unique tastes in art. I am also a recent graduate of Social Work. I like the whole hippie/ bohemian /grunge look. I use to think I was crazy, but I found out I am just A.D.D.

    I saw you led a team called Obesity but was more to do with eating disorders. I lead the Living Binge Free team, where we have a small but pretty dedicated group. Most of us have lost and maintained enough weight to quality for the National Weight Loss Registry, though we are not all thin. It seems you would have a lot to offer our team if you would like to get involved again and not have to build up your team. Perhaps you'd like to start some threads on particular interests. It looks like it's been a while since you posted; perhaps some great things have been happening... or not. Big hugs either way.

    BTW, I find it has helped me not to think I am addicted to food in general but more the ultraprocessed foods that started to multiply in the 60's and beyond, the concentrated calorie foods with very little nutrition. It's true I can overeat other foods, but not pack in nearly the empty calories I used to with those drug-like foods. I am completely on your side to break the bond you have made to those items. You did it innocently; the manufacturers did not. They knew exactly what they were designing. I affirm that you can be free.

    Glad you are doing ok, nothing much up with me. Working, resting, eating ok. Just wish I could be with my husband more.
