Hello! Welcome to my Spark Page.

My first Spark Trophies date back to 2009., but I have had weight issues since childhood and I have tried many different diet plans that didn't last. I bet you and I have more in common than you may think. You see, you are not alone on this journey. We are all human with the same struggles. Lets encourage and support each other!

2002 - 2009 Even though I have had weight issues since childhood around (11 years old maybe; when we start to become aware of body image) my weight blossomed to its highest in 2002 after the death of our son when I was 51 years old. I was shocked when I realized how much weight I had gained! The years are foggy in my memory, but somehow I managed to get my weight down to 190 - 200# when I discovered Spark People.

2009 - 2013 I wonder now where the years fly to! During this period progress was slow, but by following the SP Plan I got my weight down between 180 - 190#. I struggled daily with the thought of the life changes required to lose weight and found myself gaining and losing the same pounds over and over again.

2013 - 2014 I trained for my first 5K, learned about and The Beck Solution team here on SP. These two resources were a game changer for me and I managed to get my weight down to 170# before I had my first hip replacement followed by several complications!

2014 - 2015 I had my second hip replacement in less than a years time. I was finally feeling great physically, but my weight was stationary. I took the year off from the diet world and celebrated life! Which also brought back 10#.

2015 - 2018 I struggled for an entire year with a knee injury that has never completely resolved itself even after a repair of a Meniscus Tear. So I continue to have some pain in my right knee that exercise actually seems to help somewhat.

So here I find myself in 2019 with new found determination! Starting at 180# on January 1, I am determined to get to my first goal of 160# this year.

My goals are:
1. Feeling calm & peaceful emotionally
2. Ditching the negative self-talk and finding gratitude
3. Committing to a food plan for weight reduction
4. Getting back to my fitness routine

1. Journaling has helped me release some of those things that do not serve me well so I have more calm & peace in my brain.
2. Embracing The Weight Loss Journey team and Rejuvenation Yoga has helped build my self-esteem.
3. Working with a Personal Trainer has helped make me stronger.
4. My morning devotional time has strengthened my relationship with God.
5. Continuing with Spark People, The Beck Team, The 100 DWL Team, and my Spark Friends has given my hop for success.
6. Discovering Bright Line Eating is freeing me from unhealthy foods.
7. Bullet Journaling is keeping me focused.

The 10 Reasons I Want To Lose Weight: What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

1. I want to be at my goal weight once and for all.
2. I want to eat to live instead of living to eat.
3. I want to be master of my food.
4. I want to get rid of the rolls I see on my body.
5. I want to increase my strength so I can do more push-ups and lunges with better form.
6. I want to be proud of myself for doing what I said I would do.
7. I want to feel like a heathy person - Fit * Active * Balanced * Strong!
8. I want to feel mentally comfortable around all kinds of food.
9. I want to feel that I deserve to join the Maintenance Team
10. I want to be a healthy example and roll model for others.

My Long Term Goals for 2019 are the same as they were for 2018 because I am a work in progress:
1. Log in daily to SP.
2. Drink my 8 glasses of H2O daily.
3. Only weigh once a week.
4. 10 minutes fitness daily.
5. Get up at 7 a.m. without hitting the snooze button.
6. No mindless night time eating.

Happy Friday! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Since it is the holiday weekend, I thought I’d keep the theme going - especially since most of us will be eating leftovers sometime this weekend!

emoticon "Why didn't the cook season the Thanksgiving turkey?" "There was no thyme!"

emoticon "What kind of noise does a limping turkey make?" "Wobble, wobble."

emoticon "Why didn't the pilgrim want to make the bread?" "It's a crummy job."

emoticon Q: Why were the cranberries red?
A: They saw the turkey dressing.

    emoticon "Knock knock!"
    "Who's there?"
    "Tamara who?"
"Tamara we'll eat all the leftovers!"

    emoticon "Knock knock!"
    "Who's there?" "
    "Arthur who?"
    "Arthur any leftovers?"

What’s the difference between in-laws and outlaws?
    Outlaws are wanted.

Hope all is well. Have a wonderful weekend!

What question did the judge ask when he went to the dentist?
“Do you swear to pull the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth?”

What’s the best time to visit the dentist?

So, Jimmy, what kind of filling do you want in your tooth?
    Jimmy: Chocolate!

How do you fix a broken tooth?
    With tooth paste, of course!

Where does the tooth fairy live?
    In a molar home.

Dentists can be frustrating. You wait a month-and-a-half for an appointment, and when he examines you he says, “I wish you'd come to me sooner.”

    Have a wonderful weekend!
