Thank you for your support and encouragement on my “Facing my Fear” blog. We can only grow and improve by getting out of our comfort zone and I did just that. 8 days ago

Oh my. A pileated!! They are so beautiful -- the biggest woodpecker!! And they can be so playful, just bouncing up and down on a branch for the sheer pleasure of it. I can remember clearly the handful of times I've seen a pileated woodpecker -- in Florida, and here too in our back yard -- where one drilled such an enormous hole in an ancient red maple that a huge branch came down right on our third floor back deck in a windstorm. And: after I'd paid the arborist bill, I still didn't regret that it had paid us a visit. 10 days ago

Thank you for reading my blog about New Years Eve 1942 I hope that remembering the sacrifices earlier generations made for others will encourage us to do the same.

Thank you for reading my blog about my rather unusual Christmas gifts and for your kind words That bird feeder is a gift that will keep on “giving” for long time both to me and to the birdies.
