Jan. 01, 2008 I started the new year with a heavy heart. I was at 200 pounds. So I converted our second spare room into a some what exercise room. It had the treadmill, a single step a TV/DVD combo and some videos I bought.

By the second week I could finally walk with out feeling like my legs were screaming bloody murder. I then received my Jillian Michael DVD's. That took my body to a whole new level of pain, but I was not going to give up! I went out and bought a bike to ride while hubby was on the treadmill. By now we were both working out together.

My son moved out and his being the larger room..... well it only made sense.... we moved the home gym. I even bought another step for the hubby to use. I added weights and a jump rope. Why not? I had to keep going..........

We settled into a routine, had our share of lettuce and the weight was slowly coming off. We did this for 9 months.... we were bored, we had plateaued and were getting restless.

September 08 we joined a real gym with classes and a swimming pool. I was in heaven, at least I thought I was.

Our first class was so much fun, I did 5 pounds on the bar bell. I thought this is a piece of cake, I could do this all day.

I learned that if you want results you have to push yourself. So I did, slower than I wanted but the weight started to come off. I finally realized with the help of my Spark family, that you have to watch what you are putting in for fuel as well.

That was it, I connected the dots and was really off and running with my new knowledge. I sailed through November and December losing 15 pounds these two months. January was more difficult, I did manage to lose another 5 pounds!

I am still not to my goal, I did not put on the weight over night, so it will not all come off like I did.

Life is what you make of it, there are many things that will slow you down or turn you completely around. You have to remember you are worth it.

6. Track weight weekly

7. Measure my body weekly

8. Make good choices

9. Get more sleep
