November 27, 2011
Here we are entering 37 in a craptabulous way. I'm out of shape, still smoking and not feeling good about the choices I've made. Let's hope I can turn it around and have a more positive update soon!

November 19, 2010
I'll be 36 next weekend. I'm in better shape than I have ever been. I'm 1/2 way through p90x and am already planning my next round. I love who I am and what I'm doing to improve my health. Now if I can just kick this smoking...

October 3, 2010
Ran the Race for the Cure in 33:30. Sweet! Probably won't be doing that again. :) I'm excited because I'm going to start P90X on Monday, October 4th. Before pics will be posted as well as 30, 60 and 90. I'm looking forward to starting something new and finding new motivation.
August 9:
Update of my life: Still smoking. Back up to a pack a day. Still trying to eat well and exercise. My sister (cnikki33) and I ran in the Veedauwoo 5k on Memorial Weekend and finished at 36 minutes. Not too shabby considering we both aren't runners and it was on dirt roads. This coming weekend we are doing the Race for the Cure 5k. We're hoping just to finish :) We haven't been running much this summer with so much going on. I'm ready for fall so that maybe life will slow down enough to have time to exercise instead of trying to fit it in. Still at 119. I don't know that I'll ever see the 108 I was at in April '09 again. I'd like to though.

April 17:
So, I've been on Chantix since February 29th. So far so good. I am using an abbreviated dose and can't seem to get below the 3 cigarettes a day habit. If I go the rest of my life smoking 3 cigs a day I will be a happy camper.
Unfortunately, I've also noticed that I've gained a few pounds. I'm back at the regular workouts and food tracking so wish me luck!
Family illness and quitting smoking seems to be sabotaging me lately. I must break through! I can't help anyone else if I can't help myself. So here I am, early spring, starting back out at the weight I was 18 months ago. So much for maintaining. I need to refocus and get back to healthier living.
January 15:
Can't seem to kick the smoking habit. I guess 15 years of doing something is harder to break than just saying "I'm going to do this". I am on the other hand going to start rewarding myself for my goals.

Run 3 miles a week from now until March 30: New Nike cross trainers
Smoke less than 10 cigarettes a day consistantly for 12 weeks: Electric toothbrush

That's what I have for now. Hope it helps. I need the new shoes for the 5K me and CNikki33 are running/jogging/walking in May.

January 1:
Onto better living.

December 19:
Still smoking. Learning how to run. Learning to be a smarter adult. Harder than I thought.

Update 11/27/09
I just updated this area and then lost it all! To condense, I'm 35 tomorrow and am going to renew my efforts to stay healthy and to get even healthier. Today will be my last day smoking. Tomorrow starts a new change and a new me.

I am trying to get healthly before it gets too late. I am trying to quit smoking. I have lost 16 lbs in the last year and gained back 5. I need new motivation and direction!
UPDATE:
After one month on sparkpeople I have Hit my original goal of 115!!!
Update 3/6/09
Down to 111! I feel great!
Update 3/27/09
Maintaining time! 108-110lbs. MUST STAY HERE!
Update 4/22/09
Maintaining at 109.
Update 5/19/09
With some minor ups and downs, I'm still maintaining between 109 and 111.
Update 6/11/09
My body must just be happy at 112. No matter how much I eat or how much I exercise, I can't seem to get below here. So ok, 112 is not bad. Except for my little belly pouch, I'm looking alright and feeling even better.
Update 7/2/09
Yay 110! Work, work, work and it will happen!
Update 8/12/09
Ok, trying to maintain at 112-115. What happened to 110? It was just too much work! As lovely as that number looks on the scale, I just can't keep up and maintain it. I'm starting to see a pattern though. I rock during the winter, probably because there isn't quite as much going on so I can get on the treadmill more regularly. Come summer though, I always seem to gain a few pounds back. It wouldn't be the burgers and dogs would it? Winter comes back around and I lose a few more pounds, at this rate maybe by next summer I can maintain the 110. Maybe. But I'm happy with my health and body (except for the smoking, erg), I'm stronger than I've ever been. And I owe it all to sparkpeople and my friends. Thank you!

Update 9/27/09

Hi! Still maintaining at 112. Can't seem to break this plateau. I love my new body but I just don't understand why I still at 112 have belly fat and cellulite. I can't lose any more weight and I strength train every day! I also very, very much miss the twins. I've gone from a 36C to a 32/34 A. What's up with that????!!! Now that fall is coming, I am going to concentrate on getting more cardio ie treadmill in on a regular basis again. Maybe I can burn some of that belly fat!

Hi. I am in Waco, not Cheyenne but I know there is a walking club in your area if you are interested in participating in local events on a regular basis. I do similar walks every weekend. We are not "fund raising" clubs, we are for fun, fitness and fellowship. Our clubs are family oriented and most events are baby stroller, and pet friendly. Our object is to keep a record book and collect a stamp for each event that we do. I've done over a 1000 of the 10K events in Texas and in 46 other states. Visit my blogs and see my recent adventures. Here is the information on our local club:

Club Name: Cheyenne High Plains Wanderers
    Address: PO Box 2025
    City: Cheyenne
    State: WY
    Zip: 82003
    Contact: Arlene M. Ogasawara
    Phone: (307) 638-9979
    Website: None
    Email: alittleo@bresnan.net

Hi, and thanks for the comment on my blog. It has been so encouraging to hear from other members. Good luck on the quitting smoking. I used to smoke too but I didn't do it long enough for it to really have a hold on me. I was able to give it up cold turkey, same with the alcohol. But everyone's different and it's great that you're trying. I'd love to run a 5k someday but I have crappy joints! It's still a goal though.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I am feeling a bit down on myself for getting so far off track, but my reasonable mind tells me all I need to do is take the steps in the direction I want to go and it will all come eventually. Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
