My Goals:
My goals are, to lose 60 pounds, get in the habit of exercising regularly (and by that, I mean, no less than three times a week) and to get my energy back. I also want to see a dosage decrease or to have my hypertension medications discontinued as a result of loss of weight and living a healthier lifestyle.

I feel if I lose 60 pounds, my long-term goal, I'll be able to enjoy the benefits that come as a result of my new choices: better health and a slimmer body.

My Program:
I'm just beginning AGAIN! This time I will set realistic goals so that I can stick by them.

I visited here MANY days before I joined the community. There is so much EXCELLENT information here. After looking around so long, I decided to become a member.

I am surprised there aren't any fees assosciated with this website.

When I did the Google search, I used the keywords "free diets and weight loss tips" but of course most of the sites that claimed to be free were actually selling memberships to several "popular" diet programs.

Here on SparkPeople, I looked everywhere I thought they'd be listed, if any, but never found any fees at all, which was a very pleasant surprise.

To the owner(s) of this great site, I must say to you that you are doing a GREAT service.

Thank you so much for providing this web site and making so much available here for people like myself—someone who really needs help but can't afford to pay for programs that require fees and the purchase of costly pre-packaged foods.

    Babe, I just got back from a huge wedding with all but 1 of my brothers and sisters and I am one of 6. Mom and Dad 78 years old stayed with me a few extra days, so I have 9 pages of sprak to put me back on the right track. You are encouraged to meet the "newbies" and I am so glad you see the rewards of this site( and the price). They do an excellent job of keeping the unwanted elements out. I started to walk the beach 2 miles, you know gentle start but when I get back to peak I did 15 miles/week when I was jogger 20 years younger and 80 pounds lighter. The exercise goal is realistic for an 80 year old I can set what seems high now, will be a routine for life. My nutrition/ weight program is used by doctors and marathom athletes so I know I am in good company with you and them.
