Idaho Kipster's Journey

Here I am, 6 months into maintenance and having my first battle with weight creep. It is a battle I fully intend to win. I am still at goal but I was below the goal weight I set by a few pounds. I have been spending more time with family and their eating habits are my old eating habits. But I easily fell right into old ways. I have been spending more time with family and their eating habits are my old eating habits. But I easily fell right into old ways. That I must stop, with the holiday's upon us I have to get back the control. I know I can. A person can NOT out exercise a bad diet so my diet is where I have to concentrate. Fresh veggie trays will be my contribution to the big holiday meals. I think I will also make the yams. I think I can make them tasty with out all the brown sugar and marshmellow the family likes. Personally I like them plain but I know I wouldn't get away with that.
Getting the weight off is a very good thing, but I have to quit thinking of it as a diet and remember it is a lifestyle change. I refuse to put the weight back on and I believe I can be stronger then any temptation.
Actually I can't afford to put the weight back on, I got rid of all my "big" cloths and replace them with my "little me" cloths.

Earlier this month I reached my goal weight. Been a long time coming. Now I have to maintain it. Maintaining, I think, will be harder then losing. However I am up to the task. I lost 50 pounds that is about 1/3 of my starting body weight. I worked to hard to get it off so I will continue to track my food, exercise and watch my weight. That is my new life. And I am really enjoying it. The small amout of time it takes to track the food is worth the effort to keep off the weight.

Three months have past since my last update. A few changes have occurred. I joined a challenge called The Biggest Loser" It is the 27 round. (BLC27). When I joined I had not lost any weigh for two months. The challenge started on January 14th, it is a 12 week challenge; two weeks to go. This group has forced me out of my comfort zone and off the plateau. The scales are moving in the right direction. I am averaging about a pound a week. If I maintain the momentum, and I plan to, I will meet my goal weight sometime in June, a lot sooner then December 2015 as I thought it would be the first of January. With BLC27 coming to the end I plan on continuing on and joining the BLC28. Even once I meet my goal weight it will be good help to keep me at goal weight.

I have been back on the weight loss journey for about 6 months now. The weight is slowly coming off. The good news is I am over halfway to my goal. I have 16 pounds more to go. Now that might not sound like much but the weight does not seem to want to leave me. At max I lose 2 pounds a month; that's on a good month. So I think I might not finish the journey until this time next year. It will make for a great Christmas gift to myself.
I am walking everyday and running twice a week. I have been trying to do more weight work but not being very consistent. I get weights in at least once a week I should be doing weight 3 times a week.
To date I have lost just over 30 pounds. Sadly no one has notice. A real observant bunch, my friends and family are not. When I reach my goal I will have lost a third of my body weight. I wonder if they will notice then. If it is like the last time they will notice and then tell me I should put on weight.

Oh how easy it is to fall off the wagon when life throws you a curve ball. I was within 5 pounds of my weight loss goal, when my life got turned upside down. The weight game back except for 5 pounds. It was so easy the first go around to lose the weight, this go around not so much. Working hard, much harder then before and the weight is holding on for dear life. This time when I get to my weight goal, I vow to keep it off for good. Notice I said when, not if, I will get it off no matter how long it takes. I will not give up on me.

Well here I am 4 months into my journey and 30 pounds lighter. Quite a milestone if I don't say so myself.
At the start of my spark journey I set a goal of 125. As I got closer to that goal I realized it was not enough to get rid of the spare tire or love handles. So I adjusted the goal to 110. However I don't know if that will be enough to get rid of the belly fat. I will not go lower then 100. The first 25 pounds came off relative easy, the last 5 were slow and a lot of hard work. I have a feeling it might take another 4 months to get the last 15 off. But this has been an amazing journey. Learning to eat right and getting out of my seat and on to my feet. I wish at the beginning I would have taken more measurements especially my thighs. That is where I think the most inches have disappeared to date.
Hind sight is so good.
This a lifestyle change and I am enjoying the journey.

I have lost 17 pounds since joining Spark People.
I am over half way to my weight loss goal. I am learning to eat right and I am exercising regularly.
I try and walk at least 2 miles a day and usually do more. Except lately the weather has been hindering my walking. I try and sneak in walks between the rain showers. I did walk in the YMCA St Patrick day walk this past weekend. I walk at 17.58 mile pace. Which is faster then I normally walk. I normally do a twenty minute mile.

I will soon enter my golden years. I gain 14 pounds
since August 21, 2008, it is time I lose it and more.
I set my goal at 125 pounds, when I get there I might decide to lose more. But I will decide after I reach 125 and maintain it for a while.
I want to be healthy and active when I retire.
I want to be able to hike into my favorite backcountry lakes and do a little fishing.
I want to learn to snow shoe and fly fish.
I want to be able to do.....!
