Hi! I am Kristin, a 32 year old stay-at-home mom. I have always struggled with my weight, bouncing up and down the scale. I recently hit my highest weight ever (even higher than when I was pregnant!) and got a reality check from my doctor. I am working hard to lower my blood pressure and my blood sugar, trying to fight off heart disease and diabetes. As a wonderful side affect of tackling these two issues, I am dropping weight and having much more energy than ever before. This site is really helping me stay on track!

Fitness Minutes: 17,905

My Goals:
My main goal is to lower my blood pressure enough to go off of my medication. I'm too young to be on medicine for the rest of my life! I would also like to lose about 20 more pounds. Lastly, I want to continue to improve my fitness level, by increasing the amount of cardio I do each week. I want to make fitness a regular part of my life, as well as my family's lives.

Running has become a huge part of my life and I would like to gradually work toward a 1/2 Marathon! The Disney Princess race in particular!

06/2011 - Komen STL 5K
08/2011 - Phoenix Crisis Center 5K
10/2011- Go! STL Halloween 5K
01/2012- Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon

Another random goal: I want to be able to do 10 full push-ups in a row!


My Program:
1. Control meal portions and limit the amount of sweets and sodium I eat, staying within the guidelines on the Spark.
2. Work out at least 3 times per week - including 9 miles of running, 2 weight sessions, and at least 1 yoga session.

    Thanks for the great tips on my blog. I will definitely be spending some time saving my most frequently eaten things to my favorites this weekend. I am curious..are you doing the Disney Princess 1/2 next month? I did it last year and it was an awesome experience!

    Need to edit this post..just read your last couple of blog entries. I am so sorry to hear of all you have been through in the last couple of months. Sounds like you are a fighter and are continuing to persevere. I will say some prayers that you find some momentum in a more positive direction!! Keep plugging away step by step...that's what I have been telling myself..hoping it will work.
