Hi! I am Kristin, a 32 year old stay-at-home mom. I have always struggled with my weight, bouncing up and down the scale. I recently hit my highest weight ever (even higher than when I was pregnant!) and got a reality check from my doctor. I am working hard to lower my blood pressure and my blood sugar, trying to fight off heart disease and diabetes. As a wonderful side affect of tackling these two issues, I am dropping weight and having much more energy than ever before. This site is really helping me stay on track!

Fitness Minutes: 17,905

My Goals:
My main goal is to lower my blood pressure enough to go off of my medication. I'm too young to be on medicine for the rest of my life! I would also like to lose about 20 more pounds. Lastly, I want to continue to improve my fitness level, by increasing the amount of cardio I do each week. I want to make fitness a regular part of my life, as well as my family's lives.

Running has become a huge part of my life and I would like to gradually work toward a 1/2 Marathon! The Disney Princess race in particular!

Another random goal: I want to be able to do 10 full push-ups in a row!

My Program:
1. Control meal portions and limit the amount of sweets and sodium I eat, staying within the guidelines on the Spark.
2. Work out at least 3 times per week - including 9 miles of running, 2 weight sessions, and at least 1 yoga session.

    You are very welcome. Please keep me informed as to what is going on. I have sciatica, I know it's not anything like what you are going through but I spent quite a bit of time trying to convince people I was in pain when they couldn't find anything wrong, this was ten years ago.     I really did not give in to TOM too much yesterday. However, the bloating was not kind to me on the scale this morning .8 up .

    You asked in your comment on my status about going to a zumba class yesterday, if I went and if I liked it. I went, I was horrible, but it was kinda fun. I would have preferred different music--it was stuff I had never heard, Latin, even sung in Spanish. I like Katy Perry and Beyonce and yes....even Lady Gaga. My daughter-in-law was the one who found the class, and she says she is going back next week, so I guess I will too! I did work up a sweat, although I never was breathing heavy. Must be that great shape I am in??!! I don't think so!
