I have been struggling with my weight for my whole life. I went on my first diet at the ripe old age of 10, and have fluctuated ever since. I love exercising, but I also love food, so I have to find that balance. I have been browsing articles on Spark for over a year now, but I recently started using the nutrition tracker, which I think will really help me finally achieve my goals.

I was happy with my weight at 145 a few years ago, but I still wanted to get down to 135. Since then I have fluctuated to the high 170's until I hit my all time high of 191 in December of 2008. Blame it on falling in love and eating out all the time, but I'm ready to get serious!

Update as of July 25th, 2009:

I have committed myself to eating clean and lifting heavier! I think this is the change I really needed to finally succeed.

My Goals:
To be as healthy as I can possibly be, to feel confident enough to wear shorts in the summertime, and finally win this life long struggle with weight.

I don't want my happiness to be affected with the numbers on the scale.

Also, I am getting married in 2012, so I want to achieve my goal by then :)

My Program:
Exercise: 4-6 days per week
Running, jogging, elliptical, weight training, exercise classes and pilates.

Using the nutritional tracker to make sure I am eating within my calorie range.

Eating an abundance of fresh fruit and veggies.

Trying to eliminate artificial ingredients in foods/drinks.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL

Hobbies: Drawing/painting, learning how to play the guitar.

Want to brush up on Spanish so I can speak to my future in laws.
Want to brush up on Polish to keep up my heritage.

I love the city, but I would eventually prefer to move to an area with lots of land around my big house.
