I have been a yo-yo dieter for the past 35 years and as I turn 60 shortly it is time to finally put an end to this unhealthy lifestyle. I have half-heartedly tried SP twice before but am now committed to this being the last time. I have been successful at many things in my life--earning a Master's Degree, buying a home, having a rewarding job etc. One thing all of these had in common was having a goal and creating habits that lead to successfully attaining the goal. I read somewhere that will power alone is not enough, but that it is the habits you create that will result in true change. So if/when my willpower and resolve wain, I resolve to examine my feelings and choose new habits rather than repeating my old ones. That all or nothing mentality has got to go and be replaced by positive self-talk and kindness to myself. I have looked at several weight loss/fitness tracking websites and SP is by far the best thing out there in my opinion. No more excuses. This website has it all and I plan to take advantage of everything it has to offer. This is my year and I plan to succeed!

Personal Information:
I have lived all over the country, from the East Coast, Midwest, South and West Coast. I now live in the rainy Pacific Northwest and am longing for sunshine.


Other Information:
I enjoy playing the cello, knitting, gardening , walking/hiking, all sports and reading. I have arthritis so have to modify how I exercise and participate in some of my favorite activities. Hoping that losing 35 lbs will help me enjoy a more active lifestyle.
