TAKES AN ATTITUDE CHANGE
I have had to battle my weight all of my life, as a child, as a teen, as an adult. It has been a lifelong curse. Oh, I have been on any "diet" that you can think of and even bariatic bypass surgery. The outcome in a lot of the cases has been good weight loss. But never have I changed myself and my attitude toward food. When the weight was finally off, my thinking was like so many others. "I have lost the pounds and now I can eat." REALLY ! ! ! I don't have to tell any of you the ...

"I have lost the pounds and now I can eat." REALLY ! ! ! I don't have to tell any of you the results of acting on those thoughts.
It has taken me 75 years to realize that "dieting" is temporary. I finally realized that this is a life long issue to never be taken lightly. No more "dieting" for me. Time for an attitude change and a new determination. Time to consider food as necessary to sustain good health and not a toy to play with.
The old cliche - baby steps, one day at a time, one minute at a time. Strength and determination.

My Goals:
I did good last year and am feeling successful with the results. I plan to follow the Weight Watcher program the way it is planned. Track every bite and stay within my daily points allowance. My water aerobics exercise is very important to me and I intend to continue. On this BLC23 round, I want to meet each week weigh in without a gain and lose a minimum of 12 pounds.
I have also joined the Fall 5% Challenge. It is a little different than BLC, but the basic principles are the same - get healthy. My goals on this team will be the same as on BLC.
My Program:
I will track my foods, be more aware of the choices I make, and up my exercise program . The choices are mine and the actions are mine and there is no magic potion. So all I have is my program to depend on.
Personal Information:
My name is Alice, 75 years old, live in Wichita Falls Texas. The proud mother of a beautiful nurse daughter, now deceased, and a handsome police officer son. I am blessed with three granddaughters (two twins) and a grandson. Have an outstanding blended family of many step grandchildren. Married to the most patient and giving man in the world. Have fought weight since I was one day old. Born overweight and have stayed overweight all my life. Am a yo-yoer, been on every program offered, including addiction to pills. Am now doing it right.
Other Information:
Have had the privilege of knitting slippers for many of my SPARK friends and water aerobic friends. Have also started crocheting pot holders (picture on my pic page.) We camp, not as much as we used to, but still love being outdoors with our camper friends. Have four cats and two dogs. In pretty good health except for chemical imbalance, but have that pretty well in control. Love my family and proud of all of them.
