I am 36 years old and happily married to the man of my dreams! We have three amazing boys who are the center of our universe. Dakota is 16, Kai is 13 and Rainier is 4 years old! We are enjoying being back in our home state and try to spend as much time as possible with our friends & family. We love volunteering at our kids school, and enjoy gardening & trying new recipes with our home-grown produce. I love working out at home to Leslie Sansone videos and am really trying to get back into doing these regularly. My current goal is small, 26 pounds by October, just to get some consistency back into my routine...but my long-range plan is to lose about 100 pounds. My wish is that I can inspire my entire family to join me in a healthy living plan for 2015!

My Goals:

My long term weight loss goal is to get down to 170 pounds. I know that this is a little higher than the recommendation, but I think I would be too skinny if I went much less than that.

For now I am just celebrating being down 74 pounds since November 2011!!


My Program:

I am not really sticking to a specific diet...that would be impossible for me! So instead I am going to work on eating mostly whole foods and on getting my daily intake of fruits & vegetables again, since that is what my body craves and functions best on. Also, I want to get back into a regular walking routine, without setting rigid goals for myself. I need to find a new pace that works with my new lifestyle!

Other Information:

I'll pretty much read anything. I love recommendations! I love the classics...Capote, Nabakov, Austin, etc. I won't see the movie if I can read the book. I love music! Anything that makes me shake my butt is a hit!

    Hi! I saw on THREE's page that you said you were having a hard time getting your daily intake of water. I used to be that way too, and now I'm drinking 10-12 glasses a day. This is my suggestion--(You may already do this so sorry if you do!) Buy a couple liters of water at the grocery store, like FIJI or Aquafina or whatever kind you like, and use the bottles over & over again. I even put mine in the dishwasher to get them clean instead of doing it by hand. Anyway, I try to drink an entire liter (4 cups) by 10 a.m. Then, I try to drink another liter by the time I get off work, so like 5 p.m. & then I drink another (most days) when I get home before & after dinner. I've found that if I make sure I have a whole liter gone by 10, it's easier for me to drink more later in the day. I think it's easier to drink it out of the bottles too, because you don't have to guess, when it's empty, thats been 4 cups! I hope that helps!

    welcome, welcome, welcome...i've come, i've seen, you did good...nice start...your page made me want to keep reading...
    i hope you start with the fast break here...it is just starting with one habit at a time...and i'm with you...do not diet...BUT get lots of water in...that's a good first goal...and then get the fruits and vegies in...and you know if you are limitted on the fruits and vegies that may spike your glucose numbers...again, welcome...oh...and i agree with you, you KNOW if you are too thin at certain weights...and you can always readjust your end goals if you wish as you get closer...that's another of the good ideas spark suggests to you, set midterm goals(like your 5k)...and i'll be back to ask you about your couch-to-5k team...you may want to start one here at spark...i'd be interested in it...have fun here...you have 4 months 'til MAY...your hubby will be pleasantly surprised ... see you on the boards...THREEE
