Introduction Text UPDATE: 11/11/13. I NOW WEIGH 159. THAT GIVES ME A TOTAL WEIGHT "ELIMINATION" OF 73 LBS! YEAH! 12 AWAY FROM GOAL WEIGHT OF 147. UPDATE: I NOW WEIGH 167 LBS. WHICH GIVES ME A 65 LB. WEIGHT LOSS SINCE BEGINNING SPARK. I'D LIKE TO LOSE ABOUT 20 MORE LBS. EVENTUALLY. EATING HEALTHIER REALLY HELPS. CAN'T EXERCISE BECAUSE OF MY HEALTH ISSUES. UPDATE: 08/02/11 - I have now lost a total of 47 lbs. since starting Spark. I feel so much better & am about as happy as I can be! 04/04/2011 - I have now lost enough weight to be on the transplant list. I've been on it for over a year now. They encourage me to continue losing weight & I am working on that. My friends on Spark inspire me & I couldn't make this journey without them & their loving support. Thank you for reading this & thank you for being a friend! Update: I've joined "Marla's Miracle Challenge" on my Movin' It Team to lose 50 more lbs. to get a kidney transplant. I challenge everyone to join me on this journey together! I'm 55 years old & need to lose some weight to get a kidney transplant. With God's help I will do this. I have End Stage Renal Disease (kidney failure). I'm married to a wonderful man (Kevin) & have 3 grown kids (Bill, Kevin & Dana) ...5 beautiful grandchildren, ( Jessie, Autumn, Lily, Will & new baby grandson Landry ). I have a wonderful, huge extended family mostly all living in my hometown. I've lived here all my life & love the Ohio Valley. I'm only 4'11" & my hubby Kevin is 6'3"! I'm eager to make & meet new friends online. I have so many wonderful friends already at SP... I love you all! Dear Lord, Please look after us all as we begin a new week. Put Your arms of Love around all who are hurting. I trust you'll watch over us all. Guide us as we strive to make healthy choices to nourish our bodies. Show us the ways to become as strong physically as we can be. Lord, grant us and those we love health in every aspect of our lives. Restore physical health to those of us weakened with illness, peace to those troubled with worry, and comfort to those discouraged with problems. Help us find, through our faith and trust in You, and our love for one another, the courage to overcome any health challenges we may face now or in the future. Cover each of my teammates and their families with Your Grace, Goodness and Your Love. I ask this in Jesus' Precious name. Amen. GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY... TO EXCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE... COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN... AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE...

My goal is to get healthier & to get a kidney transplant.

I'm eating healthier, making much better choices now. I can't eat lots of fruit & veggies or drink over 32 oz. of water a day as my Renal Diet allows. It's a struggle. But I'm really trying hard. I try to work out on my Wii Fit when I can. I tried walking but my back hurts too bad anymore. A lot of days I just rest because I'm tired from Dialysis.

I love fall! The leaves are so beautiful here in the Ohio Valley. I love snow but not driving in it. I love yard sales, flea markets. I like to watch Paula Deen & I'm a huge Andy Griffith fan.
