My word for 2021 is Present
The word present has multiple meanings, most of which concern giving (a present is a gift) or time (the present is right now).
The verb present might mean to deliver something like a speech, or perform something like a play.

My word for 2018 was JOY!

My word for 2017 was HOPE
I have hope in my heart for all good things personally and spiritually. I have hope for a world at peace.

My word for the year 2016 was ADVENTURE !
It was a good word and forced me to step out of my comfort zone many times. Some adventures were with friends, some with family, some alone and many that I will always cherish.

From: Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed
Nobody will protect you from your suffering. You can't cry it away or eat it away or starve it away or walk it away or punch it away or even therapy it away. It's just there, and you have to survive it. You have to endure it. You have to live through it and love it and move on and be better for it and run as far as you can in the direction of your best and happiest dreams across the bridge that was built by your own desire to heal. Therapists and friends can help you along the way, but the healing--the genuine healing, the actual real-deal, down-on-your-knees-in-the-mud change--is entirely and absolutely up to you.

emoticon Phyllis! Think of healthy living as a career. Make goal setting a regular part of your life. Become a permanent participant in sustaining better lifestyle choices. Focus on one goal at a time to become a healthier you. Develop an action plan for each goal and finish what you start. Each positive change will lead you to better results. You CAN and WILL turn your GOALS into the results that you are striving for!

emoticon G = Give each goal 100% of commitment from beginning to completion!
emoticon O = Open your mind to new ways of doing new things!
emoticon A = Add variety to nutrition plan, fitness activities and inner well-being goals!
emoticon L = Live life embracing healthy choices, positive changes and personal growth!
emoticon S = Strive to exceed daily with a combined mind-body-soul balance!

You are most definitely NOT alone!

On Ryan's birthday, his dad and I go to a local bakery Ryan liked and get a big cupcake and coffee to share, that is like a miniature of Ryan's favorite cake We walk down memory lane together and smile and laugh, sharing all the wonderful memories we made with our son, never guessing he would leave us so soon.

On the anniversary of his death, I light candles and give myself permission to grieve and mourn the loss of my son. People sometimes get frustrated or angry with me because they think I'm wallowing in misery. They like to tell me that Ryan wouldn't want me to feel that way or to do that. They don't understand that just as we used to celebrate his life with birthdays and parties, we must stop on the day that he died, to be reminded that he is gone and we miss him terribly, but we are still here. We must go on. We must honor his life with our lives. That is no small endeavor!

So we make time to celebrate. And we make time to mourn. And in between, we live and we love. After all, life IS what happens when you're busy making other plans ~

    Success is a Choice
    -Unknown
"Today I will make many choices, and each will have a consequence. Today I can choose to tell myself that I am worth the effort, or I can tell myself doesn't matter, I'll do it tomorrow. Today I can choose to journal, or I can choose not to. Today I can choose to drink my water, or I can choose to be
dehydrated. Today I can choose to stay in my points range, or I can choose to hinder my goals. Today I can choose to be more active, or I can choose to take the easy way. Today I can choose to be motivated, or I can choose to tell myself "I can't." Today I can choose success. IT IS MY CHOICE."
