Hey everyone! My name is Meg and I look forward to getting to know you!

A friend of mine told me about this website and I thought I would take a look and see what it is all about. I have struggled with my weight for my entire life. The desire to make the changes to develop a healthier lifestyle comes in waves for me. I will be on fire to do well and succeed for awhile, only to lose motivation and find myself derailing again. I am hoping that with this site and developing relationships with others going through similar life struggles, I will be able to stay on track to a healthier lifestyle and make the positive life changes needed to reach the goals I want to reach. Honestly, I have let outside things control me for way too long. It is time for me to take control of my life and do the work that it takes to get to where I want to be.

My Goals:
Make health and wellness a priority in my life and find joy in the journey.

Focus on what I am gaining by putting in the hard work to develop a new lifestyle instead of what I am giving up in order to get there.

Learn to better manage my emotions and find healthier outlets for them, rather than food.

Be a healthier temple for the Lord.

Learn to better nurture my spirit in different ways.

Learn what it really means to love myself and embody that.

Remember that I cannot reach my goals with my own strength, but only through the strength, grace and power of God.


My Program:
Make exercise a priority and do some every day, even if I only have time for a little bit.

Be consistent with healthy habits I am developing. Consistency is critical for me.

Eat "clean." Try to cut out as many processed foods out of my diet as possible. Lean meats, fresh fruits/vegetables, whole grains, etc.

Drink the 8 cups of water daily that is recommended. My skin loves me so much more when I do.

Use this process of becoming healthier to draw closer to God is new and deeper ways.




Personal Information:
I'm a small town girl from Kentucky in my late 20s. I love quality relationships, deep conversations, music, fine arts, candles, reading, photography, baseball, traveling, dogs and trying new things. I am at my best and most happy when I am being creative. I love God with all of my heart and do my best to serve Him with my whole life.


Other Information:
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in ALL things, God works for the GOOD of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

Ephesians 3:20 - "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us."

    As my spark page says, I'm toddling along myself, putting one foot in front of the other. I've re-started many times over the past 10 months. I think this time the good changes are going to stick.

    Hi Meg. Stopping by to see how your week has been going. Are you getting some little goals accomplished?

    I still haven't exercised today. I just had a morning snack (mini-meal) so have to wait just a little bit before taking a nice long walk. I'm hoping hubby and I can take at least a short bike ride this evening.

    Our planned supper will be stuffed peppers. Mostly from left-overs, but they are still going to be a treat! I'm finding I have to have most of my calories earlier in the day. Everyone is different, and that's how God made me!

    I think there's nothing "wrong" with Special K, but I was hungry even after I ate it. It's very high in carbs. When I replaced it with hot Quaker oatmeal I lost 8 lbs. fairly quickly, and without doing anything else differently. I just did a Google check and this is the only "reasonable" site that came up: http://www.diet-blog.com/06/special_k_diet

    Special K with Strawberries is so delicious I often ate two bowls. Looking back, I think I had almost an addiction to it. So . . you can lose weight, but a person would need to very carefully measure a teeny bowl for one portion. What I've learned since then is that it's best to have some protein with breakfast to help stave off hunger and counteract the effects of the carbs.
