Introduction Text My basic goal is to have a healthier lifestyle for myself and family. ____________________________________________ 1/12/2019 It took switching doctors, but I finally got real answers. My problem was not a torn disc. Rather early arthritis, and an allergy to anti-inflammatory meds. I have finally recovered mobility and can almost walk a full mile again without a walker. Pilates was a huge contributor to that mobility recovery, along with determination. This also means that I can again stand in the kitchen for more than 5 minutes at a time to fix meals, and am slowly getting back into the habit of cooking for us. _____________________________________________ 1/8/2015 Life on hold, after a fashion as I continue to recover from what the Specialist thinks is a torn, but not herniated, lower disc. ____________________________________________ 1/2010 We moved last summer so biking to work is no longer an option. Still do pretty good at the basic meal planning, and feeding us healthy foods, on a tight budget. Where I really need to focus is getting into a daily habit of exercise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of the changes I am making to achieve this are by doing the following, cycling to work, and improving the quality of our food. I am hoping that by my example of working to take better care of myself, my family will start to make some healthy changes of their own. ~(10/26/08 its starting to pay off in tiny bits, even tdd who *loves* junk food is eating a few more vegies and a little less junk food than she used to :) and DH actually likes and requests some of the meals from the spark menu planner 8) . He even let me set up a profile for him, so I don't underfeed him by accident when going from my menu.)~ ********************* 10/26/08 I have grown as an individual past the frustration I was feeling at the time because of the knee injuries. I have learned to pace myself better with my exercise, and have been driving my tdd nuts every time I get excited I reach a new goal. Last Night while waiting for the clock to hit midnight I made my list of goals for the year, I was aiming for 3 and ended up with 4. Changed ticker to reflect this am's weight as starting weight. DH is on his annual no junk food/soda kick, this will last anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month. ;) Gotta love him ;) He still likes the menu I use from spark with alterations for him. Part of what is working against him is his job, he works swing, and may have to move to graveyard. His current shift has been eliminated, will see which one of the ones he applied for he gets. .......... and now if Monster will give us a drum roll I present ......... *** GOALS For 2009 *** (up dates in () added on 10/31/09) #1 Reduce Debt!!! Action Step 1) Pay extra to cc with highest % Action Step 2) Don't cary any cc's on me, and no new ones (down by 1 ..... party ..... everybody bring something to share :) , I'll provide the water and unsweetened tea ) #2 Make sure I have enough set aside for the summer, when I don't get paid. Action Step 1) Set aside a little each month. (accomplished, plus worked a summer position to help.) #3 Be A Healthier Me Action Step 1) Eat right, plan menu's Action Step 2) Exercise Daily, 15 minutes minimum (ummmm ............ work in progress ............ yeah that's it......) (due to unexpected home changes #4 is on hold for at least 1 year while everything gets settled down.) #4 Pass Classes Needed For AA (On Hold, but not forgotten) Action Step 1) Set aside $ for tuition & enroll in classes Action Step 2) Meet with the transition counselor Action Step 3) STUDY STUDY STUDY (Ps, This was completed in 2012. :) The 2nd part of completing a BA, is probably not going to happen due to the unexpected onset of early arthritis, it's kinda hard to master in metal smithing if you can't wield the tools anymore. :) ) 1/13/10 Last year so-so results on my goals. I am continuing to work this year on the same goals, because they are important to me.

*** GOALS For 2019 *** same as '09 sort of #1 Reduce Debt!!! - Updating to Pay of student loans #2 Keep up Pilates exercises to maintain mobility #3 Be A Healthier Me #4 Not back slide into bitterness over lost dreams, rather find the positives and build new dreams *** 2008 *** Get back into a healthy BMI range, and a healthier me. 2008 recap - I lost 13% of my weight, and reduced debt by 1 bill.

**Updated 8/4/11** Slow and steady. Small sustainable changes over time. After all I didn't get unhealthy over night, so it won't be coming off over night. I no longer use multiple trackers. We upgraded phones back around January to Androids. I now have SP to go on my phone, this has really helped me. I have added the Menu Planner from MyPyramid.gov to my tool list, I use it to see where I'm at on my food groups for the day, not for calories. I need to work on my consistency of using them. I'm using this tool less and less as I get more comfortable with identifying proper portion sizes.

I am a wife to a wonderful man, mother of 1 dd, step-mom of 3 wonderful children, and myself at all times. Of our 4 dk's two have successfully completed high school. Yay, for them. The other 2 will be finished in a few years.
