Introduction Text Congratulations to me! Three nights ago I graduated with a master's degree in Education, Equity and Cultural Diversity from the University of Colorado. It has been a two-and-one-half year journey during which there were times that I was barely hanging on. Needless to say, I didn't always make choices that benefited my health (or weight!) but they were choices I made in order to hang on. I cannot change what's done - I can only move forward. And I will. In 2008 I lost 40+ pounds. I have gained about 25 of it back. But I know that it can be done, and I know how to do it. Begin step one of my (again) journey...

Weight: 145-150 pounds Fitness: be able to run a mile! (more than a mile would be nice too...) Health: BMI in mid-normal range.

Clean Eating (cut out the white!) Exercise 5 days/week... starting with just aerobic exercise and adding strength after a couple of weeks.

I'm a mom of two children (ages 8 and 10) and work full time as a high school teacher. I am also a consultant for Lemongrass Spa Products, a natural line of personal care products that have completely changed the nature of my skin (or rather, returned it to its true nature!) I love gardening, birding (have a great yard for this!), adding artistic flare to everything I do, hiking and biking with my family, reading and doing Sudoku puzzles! I am also a type 1 diabetic, on an insulin pump and I have Celiac Disease or just plain gluten intolerance (possibility of either).
