With my beautiful best friend of 28 years. She was the glue that made my daughter's wedding come together beautifully. She has been that girls Aunt Ann since the day she was born. I'm not someone who makes close friends easily. I don't tend to be someone other women gravitate towards in the friendship department. She makes up for it. I'd rather have one true friend for 28 years than scores that leave after a short while.

The only thing that's stronger than a Marine is the Mother who raised her......

We have seven kids, two of whom are Marines. One still active duty. She is the one I'm standing with in the photo to the left. The other is our son, who stepped on an IED, lived to tell about it, got the purple heart, and decided one term was enough. Can't say I blame him. He truly took one for the team and has served our great nation well.

As for me? I'm trying to stay healthy for ALL of our descendants, of whom there are 13 so far (7 adult children and 6 grandchildren). All the grand-babies live far away and I want to be agile and able to travel and see them, truly knowing them as they grow up.

"Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NASB)

Obesity and gluttony are the sins that no one talks about. I am guilty of both.

I struggle with turning to food for comfort instead of turning to my never-failing God.

We believers need to wake up and face the facts about our own sin, which we wear on the outside, before we go judging others.

God created food for us to enjoy. But he didn't create it for us to overindulge.

I'd like to see 155 and size 6 or so again.

As a repeat weight gainer and loser, I have some work to do.

With God's help, I can do this. I've done it before. It will be worth it.

My Goals:
My overall goal is to take care of this body God has entrusted me with.

Most motivating goal: Keep my family history of diabetes and heart disease at bay. My best chance to be around for kids & grand-kids is to be as lean as possible.

Keep my muscle and bone density as I age!

At 5'9", I want to get consistently into a size 6 and put on oodles of leg muscle!

Keep the reactive hypoglycemia I have when I am heavier at bay.

If God does decide to take me early, have my organs in excellent shape so they can save/extend the lives of others. What better way to leave than helping someone else stay?

My Program:
I am a WW member.

My current lifting program is rotating body parts 4 days a week. For cardio I occasionally walk the dog, although I have been known to get a little insane and go for a run now and then.

Personal Information:
After years of being in the Air Force and then a military wife, my husband retired from the service. We have permanently landed in my his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. He is now an online professor for the DOD. I love it here- It's home. I am originally from the SF Bay Area. In my adult life I have lived in Illinois, Southern California, Virginia, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, and here in Indiana. Stick a fork in us, we're done!

Of our seven kids, four emerged from my body and three from the body of my ex-wife-in-law. :-) A son, still in college, lives at home (Go IU!). We also have six beautiful grandchildren. Four boys and two girls. I LOVE being a grandma!

Our youngest daughter, the Marine, is engaged to be married August 1, 2020.

Other Information:
These have become my own original catch-phrases:
- "The shame is not in falling down. The shame is in not getting back up."
- "Any exercise is better than no exercise."
- "Do the right thing, even when it's hard."
- "Do what scares you! "
- "You can't know what you don't know"
- "If you do positive things to your body, your body can't help but respond positively."
- "An obstacle isn't a road block- it's simply something to either be climbed over, navigated around, or blown to smithereens."
- "It's worth everything I don't eat."

Favorite quote NOT by me:
- "You gotta put your behind in the past." (Pumba to Timon in The Lion King)

Favorite Bible Verse:
- "There is no temptation you are faced with that others haven't also faced. But never-failing God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can stand. He will give you a way to escape the temptation so that you will be able to handle it." 1st Corinthians 10:13 NNAV [New Nancy Anne Version
