I have enjoyed the benefits of this site for over ten years. I have made many wonderful (cyber) friends and enjoy all the tips and advice. I hope to be the best that I can be in this lifetime. I thank GOD for all of my blessings.

Looking back, I have slowly gained weight over many years. I have to find a program that will work for me so that I can reverse this trend, take off the weight and keep it off. I do NOT want something that is a quick fix such as a pill or meal kit program diet. I was prescribed pills about 20 years ago that took off the weight but I gained it back plus much more when I quit taking them.

I was a skinny child but overweight almost all of my adult life. Other than my weight and thyroid, which is controlled with medication, I am healthy.

My Goals:
I really need to put more focus on myself and getting into shape. I have to feel better about myself and be able to look at myself in pictures without wanting to cry.

Goal 1 - lose 10 lbs
Take it one baby step at a time adding a goal after each is met

Ultimate Goal: feel comfortable in my own skin.


My Program:
Incorporate exercise in everyday activities as much as possible
Eat 6 or more servings of fruits and vegetables every day
Limit sweets - and eat clean
Drink at least 10 glasses of water each day
Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night



Personal Information:
My name is April and I have been married to my loving husband for almost 36 years. We have two beautiful daughters who have grown into beautiful, successful young ladies and one son-in-law. We live in the country on a few acres of land with our dogs who love to run and explore.


Other Information:
I love exercise and feel great when I've accomplished a challenge.
My biggest challenge is eating. I'm not a binge eater but I have a hard time staying on track. It's too easy for me to eat out with friends or family and fall back into the same routine that got me into this shape. I'm trying very hard to limit portions and make healthy choices.

    Thanks for stopping by my friend! I'm happy to say I'm -24 lbs down by now. This is pretty great considering I just started 8/1. I can say that when you eliminate sugar from your diet and all of the processed crap that we all eat every day you lose the urge to want to eat all the time.

    I really never feel hungry. I drink tea, fizzy water, no carb drinks and I'm just fine. I have to have a short window of eating because I have a tendency to eat big portions so the 3 meal a day doesn't really work for me.

    Now I have a big meal a day and that's it. No grazing, no more preparation of food...it works pretty well. But everyone is different so you have to find what works for you.

    Thanks sweet friend for the healthy fruit salad goodie. I have a salad that looks much like that sitting in my refrigerator right now. It's been a REAL challenge for me not to eat, eat, eat, and the not so healthy stuff at that. Tomorrow I'm having salad...period!
