I have enjoyed the benefits of this site for over ten years. I have made many wonderful (cyber) friends and enjoy all the tips and advice. I hope to be the best that I can be in this lifetime. I thank GOD for all of my blessings.

Looking back, I have slowly gained weight over many years. I have to find a program that will work for me so that I can reverse this trend, take off the weight and keep it off. I do NOT want something that is a quick fix such as a pill or meal kit program diet. I was prescribed pills about 20 years ago that took off the weight but I gained it back plus much more when I quit taking them.

I was a skinny child but overweight almost all of my adult life. Other than my weight and thyroid, which is controlled with medication, I am healthy.

My Goals:
I really need to put more focus on myself and getting into shape. I have to feel better about myself and be able to look at myself in pictures without wanting to cry.

Goal 1 - lose 10 lbs
Take it one baby step at a time adding a goal after each is met

Ultimate Goal: feel comfortable in my own skin.

My Program:
Incorporate exercise in everyday activities as much as possible
Eat 6 or more servings of fruits and vegetables every day
Limit sweets - and eat clean
Drink at least 10 glasses of water each day
Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night

Personal Information:
My name is April and I have been married to my loving husband for almost 36 years. We have two beautiful daughters who have grown into beautiful, successful young ladies and one son-in-law. We live in the country on a few acres of land with our dogs who love to run and explore.

Other Information:
I love exercise and feel great when I've accomplished a challenge.
My biggest challenge is eating. I'm not a binge eater but I have a hard time staying on track. It's too easy for me to eat out with friends or family and fall back into the same routine that got me into this shape. I'm trying very hard to limit portions and make healthy choices.

Hi Girl! Sorry I haven't replied. I've been working 60-70 hours a week and it's been insane. I haven't had time to even track so, although I've been only eating foods that are good for me, I've been eating more. Even too much of a good food can have side effects of weight gain. Thankfully, I've only gained a pound from my last weigh in but still, I've delayed my 60 pound goal a little while longer.

We all "fall off the wagon" occasionally. I'm going to work very hard to make sure I keep track of my food on SP again and stay in my goals. I wish you the best in keeping track and meeting your goals too.

    We'll do it!

Thanks for the comments on my recent blogs. While trying to find my motivation and change my attitude I have come across some quotes that I would like to share with you.

Always remember the power of positive thinking . . .

“It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive & thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.” ~ Robert H. Schuller

I will also leave you with some encouragement:
“When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place.” ~ Author Unknown

    &

“Instead of giving yourself reasons why you can’t, give yourself reasons why you can!” ~ Author Unknown.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Welcome to this incredible weight loss site. You’ll find lots of tools here to help you lose the weight you want to lose. I started in Jan. 07 and lost 60 lbs that year. I started at 202 lbs. I have managed to maintain except for 10lbs I gained while sick. You’ll find lots of motivation here by choosing your teams carefully. The team that helped me most is “The Alternate-Day-Diet, Friends of Dr Johnson” Drop by and check us out.

For more about the science of the plan, check out this link:

This plan will eliminate your allergies as many on this team can testify to.
Since this site is so helpful but may be confusing, feel free to ask for answers on navigating around it.

For those of you doing low carb, please visit our other team,
