I started this chapter in early May, 2016. I started off with huge changes that produced AMAZING results very quickly. Then the wheels fell off in early July. I'm bipolar and I fell into deep depression for several weeks. I regained most of the weight I had lost. I started smoking again, eating poorly and not exercising.

I've rebooted things since then and now I am focusing on very small goals. I have daily to-do lists. One is a minimalist list for days when I'm not doing well, and another is for when things are good enough.

This is my third, and final, time using SP. I say final because I don't intend to stop using it this time! When I reach my goal weight, I intend to stay here to maintain it, set and reach new goals, and encourage others along their fitness journey.

I have a very sedentary life. Right now I'm unemployed and spend a lot of time doing nothing. When I am working, I'm an IT professional and spend my days sitting at a desk.

Starting weight: 250 pounds (5/3/16)

I TERMINATED a two-pack/day smoking addiction on 3/15/2016!
I RESTARTED a just under one-pack/day smoking addiction on 7/20/2016!

    Comfort Zone
    by Anonymous

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!
