I will never forget when I first moved to the snow belt north of Toronto more than 40 years ago. Not realizing I needed snow tires -- driving a light in the rear end Bobcat with no 4 wheel drive: I got stuck. Before I could get out of my car, several strong husky men had leaped out of their vehicles, positioned themselves at the rear of my car and pushed me out . . . and got back into their own vehicles with a cheery wave. Happened over and over again. 2 days ago

Thank you for reading my blog about “My 600 pound life” The personal stories and observations shared were very helpful to me and I’m sure to others as well. So much of the damage from obesity is permanent even after the weight is lost as you described. Our hearts, lungs and joints were never meant to carry the burden of that much extra weight.

Saw your comment about staring down the doc to cough up the numbers over on MTN_KITTEN's blog. My smile got really broad, imagining your steely stare. I just hold out my hand and say, "I haven't seen those yet" and my doc hands over the report. 5 days ago
