Beat the weight gain when you have a disability


I've been diagnosed with Short Fiber Neuropathy, that has left me unable to do the activities I like. As a result I gained a significant amount of weight. It is amazing how much exercise I got before. So I thought I'd track how I'm doing with my accommodations to biking, strength training, and life in general.

My Goals:
I need to loose 50-60 lbs. I also want to get my upper body in shape so that I can start hand-cycling. I used to be an avid bicycler, but since lost partial use of my legs I've had to stop.

My Program:
 Upper body strength training focused on my shoulders and back, so that I will be ready next spring to start hand-cycling. Cardio to loose some extra pounds.

    Thanks for posting on my page. The biking is going very well. We're heading off for a 300 mile ride to benefit MS research, which my wife has. Thanks for asking, please keep us in your prayers.

    About Favre, I don't know what's up but I hope he doesn't come back. I'm a football fan, and I respect Favre very much, but part of being great is knowing when to hang it up--and it's undoubtedly time. But we shall see. If I was the Vikes I might think, "One way or the other we'll make a ton of money this year and be in the national spotlight." So I don't know.

    Honestly, loving and serving and spreading a passion for Jesus is MUCH more important to me.

    Thank you! It is definately difficult because when I'm tired it is hard to muster up the energy to work out and to measure out my food like I should. I am very proud that I went grocery shopping and bought lots of yummy HEALTHY goodies last night. Teeheehee
