Hello from Costa Rica!
This is a Costa Rican, living in Costa Rica ;-))

I'm a happy member of the 5% Challenges. The amazing friends I've made through Spark Teams keep me motivated. Though I'm always in a constant battle with my weight, I can say I've learned what's good for my health and what works for me not only from SparkPeople's wonderful information, excellent blogs, and superb tools but from these well-organized challenges (5%, BL, and BLC seasonal challenges).
These challenges have made this lifelong difficult journey towards a healthier me, into a more joyful one.

My Goals:
To reach my normal BMI and stay there (the hard road of maintaining).

My Program:
*Exercise commitment:
A minimum of 60 m of exercise, walking/hiking/dancing, 5 days a week. This may include 30 min or more of yoga, stretching, ST, once or twice a week.
*Nutrition Commitment
To eat as healthy as possible within my calorie range to lose weight.

Personal Information:
I live in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica, in the mountains (at an altitude of 4757 ft). I'm 60 (what a milestone!) and married for almost 42 years (another milestone!). Three grown children already gone, and three grandkids. I like to help with my DD with her two kids. I'm also fully in charge of the well being of my elderly mom unfortunately with advanced vascular dementia.
My first SparkFriend in this page is my daughter and my granddaughter Desiree.

Other Information:
Besides my family, I enjoy my daily routine of walking, usually 2 hours, with my walking buddies or my doggies. I also like to care for my pets, 5 dogs - 3 cats, Sparking, reading, watching movies or TV series. I also love to travel overseas, but can't afford to do it as often as I'd like to.

It's Wonderful Woman Wednesday, and this quote ties in with the Motivational Monday message . . .

“Whenever you become anxious or stressed, outer purpose has taken over, and you have lost sight of your inner purpose. You have forgotten that your state of consciousness is primary, all else is secondary.” ~Eckhart Tolle

I hope you are having a good week!

Do you sometimes feel that there aren’t enough hours in the day?

Sometimes you just have to let yourself off the hook.
Forget everything you didn’t check off your to do list,
forgive yourself for your mistakes, and stop dwelling on
everything you thought you could have done better.
The past is behind you, and it can only control you
    if you let it.
So let go of what you should have done, and focus on
doing the best you can going forward today.
    ~ Lori Deschene

Allow yourself a little breathing room. Sometimes you just can’t “chuck it all” and ignore the clock - say getting out the door on time to arrive at work on time, a doctor’s appointment, that important meeting, or something equally time-sensitive.

Many times we unconsciously put restrictions on ourselves; but why put extra pressure on yourself with your own self-restrictions? Give yourself permission to take a few precious moments to calm and relax yourself - even if it means just lingering in “that pleasant place” for a little while longer. . .

Doing this in a conscious and mindful way will actually help you breeze through your day with a smile on your face.
Give this a try this week - allowing yourself to “flow” through your day
at a comfortable pace, and allowing yourself to linger in things you find relaxing to you.
