Hi Peggy-Bee, It's my pleasure to comment on your blog. I don't think that Ridgecrest has had many quakes in the past except for the recent big one (was it July 4, 2019) and a few more follow up tremors. The Big Island of Hawaii has some quakes because of the active volcano which recently erupted in December. However, we don't feel it on Kauai. Our daughter has been living there since 2002, and we used to visit her when the Inyokern airport was operational. They had a rinky dinky airport, but then upgraded it to a very nice terminal. Alas, the United flights got cut and so we can't fly into Inyokern any more. Too bad. It's about 100+ miles to drive from LA. Of course our youngest daughter drove us there one year, and we had a nice time in Ridgecrest. Maybe one day they will resume flights to Inyokern.
How true it is to miss the ocean if you've lived there for many years. Oh I'm sorry that you had to cancel your trip to Hawaii, but maybe one day you'll visit. If you ever do and plan to visit Kauai, I'd love to meet you once this virus is under control.
