About Me:

-I'm Kasi, a 30 yr old living in Upstate SC, originally from Upstate NY.
-Live with my husband Jeff, hyperactive pups Dexter and Alice.
-Hope to add to my little family one day, when I'm healthier
-I work full-time in internal/family medicine as a CMA.

I see many of my patients struggle with chronic health conditions on a day to day basis, it sad to say that I am one of them.

For the most part of my life, I've been the person to take care of others and put myself as the lowest priority and its hard to say that my health has deteriorated very rapidly.

To be honest, people can't believe how bad I really am. I struggle on a daily basis with depression/anxiety, horrible acid reflux, IBS, hypothyroidism (and every side effect that comes with it), high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol and I'm obese.

To top it all off, in 2019 I was diagnosed with a poorly functioning liver (mostly due to autoimmune), multiple skin cancer sites removed (if you stay out of the sun, you can still get skin cancer people!), a brain tumor, and infertility (have been trying since Dec 2016).

To say I have serious health issues is an understatement and yet I'm the most cautious when it comes to being healthy in my family.

--Been a member of this site for a long time, have seen results then something strikes me down (like the items listed above) and I seem to lose it. Hoping for people to go through this next phase with, it would be awesome to have company :)


1) To exercise more days than not on a monthly basis. I used to make plans to exercise than something would happen and I'd fail to do it. This leads me to throwing everything out the window for that day..or even the entire week.

2) To try do something healthy each day. Whether it be eating a vegetable to taking my dogs for a walk.

3) To improve my levels on blood tests. I would love to lower my A1c and LDL and raise my HDL.

4) To stick to my strict diet (or at least try to) that my doctor put me on.

My Goals:
-I want to focus on 10 pounds at a time. I want to be healthier and look good. I'm starting off slow and trying to build up motivation while continuing.

-To meet people going through the same thing.

-To become healthier and feel better.

-Since I have a BMI that has categorized my as being obese, I would like to try to get to an overweight BMI to start with, and then go on to have a normal/ healthy BMI.

My Program:
- Watch over my calorie intake and focus on portion control.

-Exercise most days of the week, both cardio and strength training.

-No Soda or chips!!

- I am going to try to do a little more each day and hopefully continue successfully.

    emoticon Happy Birthday. Scorpio is a good sign for a woman to be since it makes her very much in charge of her own life. (Julia Roberts and Sally Field are both Scorpio women as is Maria Shriver.) Because the Scorpio child wasn't wanted by the father for whatever reason (often this wasn't even talked about in the family, but the sensitive little Scorpio FELT it and knew, so she learned not to trust others but to depend on herself), the Scorpio child grows up insecure and often a loner, but she rules her own life and whatever she makes of it is completely up to her. In any relationship she is in she MUST be in charge. She gets along well with Pisces, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Taurus). Her health issues can be her female organs, her throat and thyroid, thus she can have a weight issue, but she also has complete self-discipline and can exercise and control what she eats. She is emotional and lives her life always to extremes, so she can turn to drugs, alcohol or food, if she isn't careful and allows her emotions to run away with her. For this reason, she is often a counselor to others, or a fitness trainer or even a military person. She makes up her mind quickly on people and issues, never being in the center. If she likes someone, she is loyal to the end, but if she doesn't she will use her sarcastic manor to let them know. She is always willing to take on a fight, even if she is very much the "church lady." Her life is never an easy one as no matter how much money she gets she will struggle and see her life as difficult. (Maria Shriver who was married to Arnold writes always about how difficult her life has been, while living in a mansion.)
    Scorpio needs a creative outlet so she finds it in some physical manner such as running, Yoga, or even like Picasso, in art that is very unusual. She often has a large family, but she is the bread-winner. (Sally Field supported her first husband and got a divorce saying "I was the Little Red Hen who did it all." So like a Scorpio woman.) the real issue is she doesn't feel anyone else can do it well enough to suit her, so she does it herself, but then gets very tired and she feels used. She has to learn this about herself and give up some control to others as she so often takes on way to much to begin with.
