Starting weight: 154 lbs.
Goal weight: 120-130 lbs.

(11/07) I started at 160 pounds and my long term goal is to reach between 120-130 pounds and maintain it. The weight added up so fast I can't believe it. Just a few years ago I weighed around 130 and didn't like what I looked like - now I'd be glad to be at that weight again! I have had many "start overs" and hope this will be my last start over. I want to make a lifestyle change that lasts and as of 11/19 I have managed to stay in my daily calorie range of 1200-1600. I think I am off to a good start!

(12/12/07) At my last weigh in I was down to 151 pounds and very excited to be approaching my first goal of 149 by the end of this month. As for what I first wrote above, I have no longer continually stayed within my calorie range BUT I am on day 24 of my healthy lifestyle change and despite going out of my calorie range I feel able to start a new day fresh and not let that get me down, which I am very proud of.

(1/16/08) Today I changed my weight loss ticker start weight from 160 to 154 lbs. I technically started this journey on 11/19/07 but did not weigh myself that day, and the first time I did weigh myself at the start I weighed 154 so I figured I'd alter that to reflect my actual loss. I am still impressed by my success thus far!

(2/3/08) As of today, I am down to 144 lbs. and have lost 10 lbs. total since starting!

(3/26/08) Today I hit the 15 pound mark! I weigh 139 lbs. I am thrilled... back in the 130s and I've reached 15 pounds lost! I can't believe it, that just sounds like so much and I guess it's something I never thought I could make happen. I feel so proud that I've finally achieved it and will keep on working toward my goal!

(4/30/08) I am ending the month at 141 lbs. This is the first time I have not lost weight and actually gained. I am hoping May will be much better.

(5/30/08) May was a great month - I got back on track and started losing consistently, getting to my lowest weight in a while.. 136.5 lbs.

(6/30/08) The end of May leading into June was not so great. My grandma got quite sick and we thought she may die.. plus I moved from an apartment to a house. Lots of stress and no more apartment gym = me gaining weight.. but managed to get back down to 138.2.

(7/31/08) I bought an elliptical and treadmill on the 22nd and had them delivered and set up on the 27th. Since they have been delivered I've worked out consistently each day and also have been staying in my calorie range. I ended the month at 141.6. I also finished the 30 Day Shred this month and think I built a bit of muscle along the way.

(8/31/08) This month I walked 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for breast cancer August 8-10. After I got home, I spent some well deserved time resting... and rested most of the rest of the month. I started to neglect my exercise equipment, but hope to dust it off for September! Ended the month at 138.2 lbs.

(12/21/09) I have not updated here for some time now! Today I am back to 136.5 lbs. which is where I was over a year ago. This time, I intend to keep on the downward path and to NOT return to the 140s. Looking below where I tracked my progress, it can be seen that obviously I had a pretty easy time getting to 140 and my body has just seemed to like it there. Of course I am glad to have maintained around the 140 mark, however I do want to at least get to 130 again and at this rate I could make it by February 2010!

(1/5/11) Looking back on what I've written since 2007, I am both happy and annoyed. I am glad that I don't weigh 155-160 anymore, but I am sad that after all the time I've been on SparkPeople I still haven't gotten below 135 or managed to even maintain in the 130s for more than a few weeks at a time. Currently I weigh 139.6 and have been lingering in this range since around 12/28. for much of 2010 (I'd say between March and October) I really didn't work out much or pay attention to what I was eating. My weight went back up to 150 for a few weeks and I felt terrible about it. It's always pretty easy for me to lose those 10 lbs. and get back to 140 but I want to at least reach 130! For the whole month of November and December I exercised regularly and tracked my daily caloric intake. I am finally feeling more at peace with this idea working and not being so irritated about having to do it. Every day I feel a little better that I am making progress yet if I splurge, it doesn't mean I ruined everything. I am slowly breaking down the all or nothing thinking that I've had problems with for so long.

(9/21/11) Since July, I have mostly stayed in the range of mid-to-low 130s, with the lowest reaching 132.7 a few times. I am pretty happy with this, since I feel like I have adjusted my "set point" or whatever... (is that a real thing?) Ever since I started trying to lose weight, I've had a hard time getting below 136 and now I've been maintaining below that for almost 3 months! I know 125 or 130 is possible, I just need to pay more close attention to what I am eating and make sure to get the right amount of exercise.

(10/19/13) Once again, I let exercise and healthy eating fall to the back burner and gained back the weight. About a month ago I got up to 154 lbs. again. That seems to be my maximum, or at least the point where I realize "Okay I need to start doing something about this again." Mostly, it's that my pants start getting harder and harder to fit into... I started a new job earlier this year which has led to a lot of stress eating. Now I'm trying to use exercise to cope with the stress instead. I also found a great website called, which greatly motivated me over the last 4 weeks to manage to drop down to 146.4.

I'm not sure of my ultimate weight loss goal yet because I feel like I need to see what I look like as time progresses before I make that decision. I would definitely like to at least reach 130 though.
