Hi, I think you are doing a great job coming up with fun prompts to get us to share on the BL challenge. I am also very impressed with your success in losing weight--a great inspiration. Thanks. 2972 days ago

Thank you for the lovely welcome you left on my page. Congratulations on your amazing weight loss. I look forward to getting familiar with the team and working towards my goals.
Thank You for welcoming me to the 100 plus club. I just read your story, and I am more committed than before, partly because we have so much in common regarding the consequences of our overeating disease, and also because you are so generous and open in sharing your photos - so I identify with you, and all of this helps me to REALLY believe that I can walk diligently this path to health ! Thank You!
I have fibromyalgia, was diagnosed with arthritis in my neck and lower back when I was only 32 years old, have degenerative disc disease in my neck - which causes pain, tingling, and varying degrees of numbness in my arms and hands - and my knees have gotten bad in the past 2 years (they "crunch" and "pop" whenever I climb stairs or bend down).
I watched my dear Gram die from complications due to her obesity. She was about 5'8" before her spine compressed, and I think her highest weight was about 360. She quit smoking and changed her diet (mostly low sodium and low fat changes), and even began exercising on a stationary bicycle, but it was too little, too late. She died in 1996 at the age of 70 (quite young, I think). She got to see my oldest son when he was just a baby, but she didn't get to see him grow up, and she never got to meet my youngest son.
Reading your story made me realize at a deeper level how deadly serious and life-stealing compulsive overeating is, and it reminded me of my Gram's decline and death. The wonderful, positive stuff I gleaned from your story includes hope and belief that I will stay on this health and wellness path for the rest of my life, one manageable day at a time.
I have lost 7 pounds since joining SparkPeople, and my pain management doc says for every pound of body weight lost, we lose about 4 pounds of stress from our knees - so my creaking knees are packing 28 less pounds up and down the stairs in our new apartment! Yay!
I also wanted to say thank you for sharing pics of your sweet, sweet angel daughter. I said to my husband, if you were having a rough day, all you'd need to do is look at that cute little face smiling, and you'd immediately feel happy and uplifted :) She's a jewel.
Thanks Again for welcoming me to the 100 Plus club. A year ago, I would have been humiliated to become a member of a 100 Plus club, but today, I feel only gratitude and support - and just plain old excitement ! I know this road to wellness won't be exactly "easy," but I know I can do it with your help and the love and support of all SparkFriends!
