Introduction Text On Monday, Sept 15, 2008 I will have adjustable gastric band surgery. I have decided to use this website as my avenue to track a healthy new lifestyle. My highest weight was 280 on 6/19/08. I lost 17 lbs before surgery on 9/15 - weighing in at 263. My goal is to reach 150 lbs within 18 months.

Lose 10% - 28# - 252 (DONE!) Lose 10% - 25# - 227 Lose 10% - 23# - 204 Lose 10% - 20# - 184 Lose 10% - 18# - 166 Lose 10% - 16# - 150 GOAL!!

On 9/15 I underwent gastric band surgery to restrict the amount of food I can eat at one sitting. I have 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. My meals consist of an amount equal to 1/2 cup (4 oz) per meal. Sancks are 1/4 cup (2 oz). I try to limit my intake to less than 5 g fat and 5 g sugar per serving. My protein goals are 60-80 g per day. Plus, of course, 64 oz of water per day. I get most of my protein in with foods, but usually add a protein shake in to my day if I am shy on protein for the day.

I'm originally from Michigan, but moved to Massachusetts in 4/06 due to my husband's job transfer. Massachusetts is a beautiful state, especially this time of year (fall). I have 2 grown children (sons) and a 5 year old grandson who lives in Kansas.

I'm 52 years old, married with 2 grown children (sons). One lives in Michigan, the other in Kansas. I am the grandmother of the sweetest little boy I know!!! He's 5 yrs old in Nov 08.
