My mantra was once, "Life is too short to eat diet food!" So I ate McDonalds every day in high school along with everything fatty, greasy and unhealthy. Due to great genes or dumb luck or a fast metabolism, I weighed under 100 pounds despite eating all that junk and NEVER exercising but wore a size 10. During university, I would often eat a entire large bag of Doritos for dinner and drink several cans of Coke a day. Double portions in the dining hall followed by late night pizza and candy. Don't you dare call me skinny, I'm FIT! Those awful habits led to a 40 pound weight gain. I would get sweaty walking from my bed to the fridge in my one bedroom apartment! In September 2000, I joined a gym and have never looked back. Thank goodness I look nowhere near my age. Favourite quotes: "Color coordination is the key. It doesn't matter how fast you run.     I am not a runner , and never did a race even when I did jog . My thing is the gym... and walking but I am interested in your posts. My husband was a runner in Montreal in a huge group. I taught group fitness to many of them ...lots of energy !!!

    Thank you for your comment. It has taken me almost 7 years to get to this point again because of back surgery in 2011. I started having issues with my back in 2010 and I just thank Jesus everyday that I am mobile, without pain, and getting on with a goal that I wanted to accomplish and that was to be able to swing a kettlebell.

    I had to start from the ground up, literally with a lot of exercises on the floor to open up the hip area, the knees, and working out with the TRX suspension straps. And I am 66 years old. I am very proud of myself because it is no small feat to be able to get up and down off the floor for me after having back surgery. (Bone graft, L5, S1). But I am very happy with the progress that I have made. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
