Why does SP suggest we find a board of other like ourselves and post often?

This was a question I had when I joined over a year ago. I could handle it by myself. I am perfectly able to read the articles, track my food and exercise and get on with my life. I could learn a healthy lifestyle alone!

I decided to give posting a try! The wisest decision I've made in a long and varied life.

Yes, your team will advise you when you plateau, sympathize when you gain, cheer when you lose, but they do so much more. They are the friend that you can talk to and share with.

They pray when a child, a parent, a spouse, a friend is ill. They cry with you when you go through a divorce. They cry and pray with you when your spouse passes away. They celebrate births, marriages, graduations and other special occasion with us.

Some of us recently traveled to Paris and on to Spain with a Spark Friend. What fun as she posted each day the places she was seeing. It was like being there!

I've set here in Small Town Nevada and traveled to Australia and Cornwall via web links sent to me by Spark Friends. I would never have found these links by myself or even known I wanted to see them.

I have Spark Friends from all over the world. Some of us may never get in the same hemisphere, but I cannot imagine my life without them. I've been fortunate to meet two of my Spark Friends passing through this tiny little town. They were as beautiful in person as they seem on the boards.

Some have disappeared with no notice and this is something that the rest of us worry about. Are they ok? Did we do something wrong? What has happened that someone we loved and admired suddenly left?

I feel that the friendships, the sharing of joy and sorrow is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Learning about others, where and how they live is vital to understanding each other. I have a Cornish Spark Friend that said she was going to learn to speak American. I had to tell her to forget it! I've lived here for 66 years and when the Grand kids are talking, it is a foreign language to me!

If you have never posted on a board - start! Spark People are wonderful, loving people. Open your heart to others and the rewards are more than I can possibly describe!

I love my Spark Friends. Thanks to all of you who share your lives with me. I am a richer person for knowing you!

You do have a way with words. I feel the same but I cannot express them.
    Thanks so much,

Wow, great entry. You hit the nail on the head. I need to give this to all the people who just don't get spark. I hear it all the time...who has time to do that? Well, I suppose it's better than sitting in front of the boob tube waiting for the pounds to fall off. Thanks, always wisdom here on your page.

You are truly a writer my friend.

Who could have stated it so clearly!

If all members can see this blog of yours, they would jump right into the CHAT room to share and laugh with us all.

This has been so much fun...........this journey of getting healthier. And who knew that there were friendships to be made...........a little family out there in cyber land!

It is good to be able to share..............thanks to you all!

How true! I was just telling a friend tonight at dinner about all of my new-found friends. She said, they aren't really your friends - she just doesn't know or understand. All of you truly are friends - people we can share with and laugh with and cry with. I couldn't have said this any better myself - thanks for verbalizing exactly how I feel.

    I love it that we can connect with people who are vastly different than us in many aspects but soooo much like us in others - we grow as we share and are richer for it! Thanks for posting this and thanks for still being here to spread your wisdom - {{{{ Jenna }}}}}
