Craving carbohydrates

I am a carbohydrate junkie and today was one of those days when I craved sugar. So, I decided to go for it and although I stayed below my recommended calories, let's say I didn't eat in a healthy way. For dinner, I had a small roast beef sandwich and 2 (yes 2) skinny cow mint ice cream sandwiches plus one frozen strawberry yogurt bar. So I ate 3 ice cream treats for dinner instead of healthy calories. The sad thing is I could've eaten a couple more quite easily. But I didn't. Luckily for me, these treats don't have many calories considering, but they still have lots of sugar.

No wonder my weight seems stuck these days. I really need to start eating more protein and less carbs, but it's hard. I really do just crave carbs.

Anyone else like me out there?

    Carbs have always been my weakness, but discovering high blood sugar last year was my biggest turning point to improving my health. I eat low carbs out of necessity, but I have been craving them pretty bad lately. I eat fruit in smaller quantities (no added sugars or sweeteners) to help satisfy that sweet tooth. It helps some.

    Self control is so hard sometimes!

    I totallly LOVE carbs:) Tonight I had two servings of bread pudding. I'm staying in my calorie range, but I would really love to eat something else yet.
    I figure as long as I don't over-indulge in the carbs all the time, a little binge every once in a while is o.k.

    I hear you loud and clear! Last night I ate cereal, gingersnaps, and an ice cream cone because I had the carb cravings. I'm trying to get more protein in as well.

    Oh yeah - it is the carbs that I crave. I do the same thing - stay in my calorie range but eat ice cream and cookies instead of fruits and proteins. But I am in my calorie range! Gotta break out of this bad habit. I need to have some easy to eat and low fat protein around. I like to grab some peanuts; but they have sooooo much fat. I like to eat cheese; but it also has too much fat. My kids baked the best chocolate cookies today and I am sure I had at least 10 of them. I like to rationalize that they are healthy - they are made with 100% fresh ground whole wheat and only about 1/2 the sugar. They have oatmeal and peanut butter. Can't be too bad - can they. Once I get started on them there is no stopping me. They are just soooooooo good. What's the solution? Self control. Well some days are better than others.
