All things pass eventually

Several years ago I was at the beach and we had gone to dinner. There was a nice restaurant that had a view of the ocean and a yummy seafood buffet and we had heard it was a great place to eat. We got there early and as we were being seated I asked the hostess if we could have a table by the window. I thought she gave me a funny look, but she promptly took us to a prime spot with a fabulous view. After we got settled we went to the buffet table. When we came back all of our stuff was gone. Our bags & jacket, even the silverware & plates were gone. As I started walking to the hostess station to tell them about it, I passed a table and there was all of our stuff, just like we left it. I was a bit confused, I was sure we were sitting by the window. But, our stuff was obviously at the other table. So we sat down with our belongings & proceeded to enjoy our meal & dinner conversation. A few moments later I found myself gazing out the window watching the dolphins play and realized we were sitting in front of the window! That's when I realized the restaurant revolved. It was so slow & so imperceptible that you couldn't tell you were moving. Over the course of an hour or so we went around that restaurant 10-12 times.
My weight loss is like that. I don't loose 5 pounds at a time. On a good week I loose .5 pounds. But those .5 are slowly, almost imperceptibly disappearing. As long as I don't focus on the scale, but instead concentrate on building the habits that make up a healthy lifestyle the weight just passes away. Time will pass, all things pass, and one day I will find that the obese phase of my life has also passed.
ALL THINGS PASS - Lao-Tzu (Adapted by Dr. Timothy Leary)
All things pass
A sunrise does not last all morning
All things pass
A cloudburst does not last all day
All things pass
Nor a sunset all night
All things pass
What always changes?
Earth...sky...thunder...moun
tain...water...wind...fire
...lake...
These change
And if these do not last
Do man's visions last?
Do man's illusions?
Take things as they come
All things pass
