Little harder than I thought....

As I sit here watching the crazy squirrels scramble to get the last of their nuts for the winter, I find myself struggling with recording everything.... This is a new tactic for me and I see the great benefits it brings, but wonder if the time spent writting everything down wouldn't be better spent moving. I know it will take time to get into the groove of writting everything down and recording my feelings and such, it's just..... I guess I just want results now. So much for patience eh? Oh well, I know its going to take time, afterall I didnt get to where I am overnight. I just wish the road didn't seem soooo long lol. Going skating today, something that I haven't been able to do for years because of a previous figure skating accident, so I'm looking forward to the full body workout that I will get. Hoping that being out on the ice again (something I love very much) will lift my spirits a lil and help keep my motivation where it needs to be.

    Good for you! Get out there and do what you are happy with. I agree about waiting for the results, it is hard, but WE CAN do this! YOU WILL do this! Hang in there.
    emoticon Remember whyyou're doing it and that in itself should be enough motivation. I know it works fo me. Sit down and write don all your resons and take a look at them from time to time. Make a check list of why your in a lifestyle change too, will help. Check off every accomplishment you make.

    Tracking is the way to our goal. It is too easy to slip a little extra in here or there that will sabotage our goal. When you track everything you eat and drink, it keeps you honest with yourself, allows you to see where you need to make changes, what your triggers are, etc. Once you get the hang of it, it should only take a few minutes a day to enter your meals and that is a small price to pay for goal.

    Learning what and how much I eat has been the number one reason for my weight loss success. When I write down what I've eaten I really seem to do so much better. It's worth taking the time to do it. Have a great time ice skating! What a fun way to burn calories! emoticon emoticon

    I've been feeling the *exact* same way..but am attempting to log anyway. I think part of my resistance is coming from facing the reality of it all - and the other truth is, yes...it's time consuming. ugh.

    I could not have lost the 25 pounds I have lost without tracking my calories. I tried and failed. It does take time, but it is worth it. Hang in there until it and everythign else becomes habit. There's that nasty word patience looming in the background again!
