Know Your Anatomy

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Finally it has come to an end! My Anatomy course is complete... A brutal week with our 6th Unit Exam AND the Final Exam only 2 Days apart. ARRGH! I loved the course, though, and having already taken Physiology really helped. I was more than a little stressed over this last semester and spread myself too thin at times, but it was worth it!
I can now move on with my plans to go to graduate school. My instructor was so approachable and her husband is a neurologist, her son is in med school at UCSD and her daughter is a PA, so talk about having a well-connected source for my burning questions about the medical field! Needless to say I spoke with her at length throughout the semester. She encouraged me to look at PA programs, and promised me "A GREAT letter of recommendation." I am sooo psyched right now, and I really, REALLY needed it after all of the stuff 2009 has done to our family.
I have promised family out in Nevada that we would come and visit for a couple of days, so I have been hitting the gym extra hard for the last couple of weeks, trying to get some more definition on all the work I have been doing on my personal Anatomy this past year.
I have decided that 2009 will go down as the the year of "Know Your Anatomy" Because, after the hundreds of miles I have logged trimming the fat off of my muscles, I actually know all their anatomical names now! emoticon
So here is to 2010 and all of us Sparkers, may the new year bring us completion of our goals and, for me, let 2010 be the year to Know LESS of my Anatomy!

I'll bet it helps knowing what/where all your parts are, what they do, and how they work with everything else! It probably makes workouts a lot easier and enjoyable!
