FitMary takes a dive...

I was doing very well until a tiny little virus struck and I contracted Bell's palsy on the right side of my face. I didn't think I needed a lesson in how precious and fragile life is, but I certainly got one! Last week was a challenge with the discomfort, exhaustion, and surprise, and I didn't exercise and let my eating get out of control. Luckily I was able to take some time off work, thanks to a sympathetic colleague who helped me. Now the shock has subsided somewhat, and I'm not so tired so I'm going to try to swim my way back to the top. I promise myself at least two 10-minute cardio sessions today. I went to the inspirational Spark stories. If those people can do it with all their challenges, then so can I. Thanks, SparkPeople! I'm going to try again....

(By the way, the SparkPeople article on Bell's palsy is very good, better than the information my physician's assistant gave me!)

My husband had Bell's Palsy about 15 years ago - he did acupuncture and recovered fully in less than a month.
