15,000 STEPS! For ME!

Friday, March 19, 2010

My feet are TIRED! Today I made sure I had my pedometer on for the entire day.

After working in my new little growing garden/back yard, I worked 4 hours at the library conference helping to organize and set up for tomorrows GIGANTIC used book sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Public Library to help fund ongoing programs the library offers to the public. We have a used bookstore that raises a good amount each week but we also do about 3 gigantic used book sales each year. This is my second in which I have participated.

After working there, I came home and Penny and I went for a LONG walk.

I looked at my pedometer and I have clocked 14,000 steps! Confident that with the walk this evening with DH and Penny Dog, I will pass 15,000. No wonder my feet are TIRED. My walking shoes are the BMT athletic shoes with the curved bottom. Takes the stress off the ankles and really works on one's balance also. These shoes came out before the new version by other shoe brands.

SO my working out is really great and I am glad because we have pizza for lunch and yes, I had two pieces. So, one step back (pizza), two steps forward (walk, Walk, WALK). I am not beating myself over the pizza.

I am eagerly waiting for my weigh in this Monday morning.

THE BIG BOOK SALE IS TOMORROW. Wish us luck!

Keep on sparking! Rusty emoticon

Isn't it ridiculous how fast we can rack up the steps on our pedometers? Since I started wearing mine to work, I've noticed that I easily get 15,000+ during my 12-hr shifts @ work... and now I know why my feet & legs ache when i get home!

    WAY TO GO!!!

Good luck on the book sale. I wish I could come! I always go to the one the local branch does in the spring.
Congratulations on the number of steps today. I'm still not up to "normal," (as if I've ever been normal) so I didn't even get 3000! I just walked a little over a mile. I did do upper body exercises and worked on cleaning closets - loading up boxes of stuff to donate - I'm on a decluttering kick right now!
