What a pain in the.... back

Friday, August 13, 2010

Sooooo frustrating! I was really getting into a rhythm of working out and actually switching things up with some great strength training on the Wii and I go and mess up my back. Urgh! I hate that.

I was fixing Denver's chain on his bike (We pardon this interruption with a proud mommy moment to report that yes, my 4 year old taught himself to ride without training wheels). So, there I was sitting in the garage pushing his handlebars with my legs and pulling his back tire and tightening screws so I could tighten his chain. I guess that was too much pushing and pulling and tightening for one person to handle, because when I stood up I realized I had made a big mistake. Yeah, I rocked the bike repair and now his chain is nice and tight, but OUCH! What in the heck did I do to my back?

That was on Monday, and I am FINALLY not hurting all the time. It's still going to be a few days until I can really go at it again, but right now I'm not taking anything for granted. I realize some people have pain like this every day of their lives and I feel so grateful that I have (usually) a strong, able body. Sure, it might be a little too jiggly, too stretch marked, and too pale and freckly for my liking, but it will be better soon. and that is a blessing.

OUCH! I'm so sorry you hurt yourself. Way to go Denver! Ab is still trying to figure out how to ride WITH training wheels! HAH! But it is only warm enough for bike riding a few months out of the year here. Anyhow, I'm one of those people who lives with that kind of back pain every single day and will for the rest of my life! Ya, it sucks...lol I envy you! You'll get back there and you'll rock the world again!
