I want to smash my scales ...

Sunday, August 29, 2010

.... seriously I do. The dratted thing drives me batty emoticon

I have these STUPID digital scales - sounds good right? In theory yes, or so I thought.

So I go to weigh myself - it very handily weighs in either kilos or pounds - and I step on the scales and it gives me a weight. I reweighed myself just to be sure a few seconds later and, lo and behold, (remember it's just a few seconds later) I appear to have put on 2 pounds - wtf???? seriously? Ok, so I weigh again and get an entirely different reading. Riiiiiight - time to pull out the big guns - so off comes the nightie and, again, amazingly I appear to have gone up 3 pounds?!!!!!!!!

I would have smashed them by jumping as hard as I could on them but they are glass.

Grrrr - so I have given up on them and tomorrow I will do some measurements.

Now, to find the tape measure .................. hmmmmm, this is going to be a looooooooooong afternoon emoticon I'm thinking a glass (or two) of wine might be in order later

Make sure the scale is sitting on a level floor, and that the batteries are still good. Mine used to do that when the batteries were dying.

I can relate to this but I really try not to let it get to me. But yet I still get on it. LOL

I don't like my scales either, I have a dial and digital. But for some reason I'm addicted to it. I weigh myself every morning. I have to stop that!!
We can't go by the scale alone. Measuring yourself is a good thing to do. Also go by how your clothes fit, how you are feeling. The scale is only a number!!
    Have a wonderful week!! emoticon

Sometimes I weigh myself 10 times a day and get a different weight each time... I weigh myself on the doctor type scale at the gym and use that as my offical weight!!!

I got my scales from the warehouse for $20. They are digital, let me know if you want to know the brand. They work really well and apart from the fact that they are being mean and telling me I haven't lost any weight they are really good

first digital scales are easily made inaccurate either by kids jumping on them hitting them with a door or object can make them off however its the same with the cheap scales that look like a dial however if your doctors office is close but those scales they have with the weights on them are really the most accurate and most offices will let you comein during office hours just to weight yourself at no charge
